Reintroduction

AlphaDogChoppers

Science is true whether you believe in it or not.
Some you you here might remember me. I kind of fell out of the habit of coming here for no particular reason.
I had a custom bike shop In Horsham, PA, (A suburb of Philadelphia.) I gave up the shop nearly 2 years ago after some terrible complications of prostate surgery that left me 100% disabled. I've now recovered enough that I am going to resume working on bikes again part time. I'm still pretty limited. I can't lift anything heavy.

I had my shop for 15 years, specializing in vintage bikes. I did metal fabrication, powercoating, painting, polishing, and general repairs.

Welcome back. Old Philly guy myself now living in Georgia. Used to work for Temple.

Good to see you back. Sorry to hear about the med issues and very happy to hear that they didn't completely kick your butt.

Glad you're getting back to bike work. It's one of the main reasons I got better after my crash.

Welcome back ADC.
Good to hear you are on the mend.
What bikes are you working on at the moment?

Glad you have recovered as much as you have and good to see you back, also a philly guy, sorry about your shop.

I'm happy you are here. I have been reading some of your old posts and comments that answer questions that have been very helpful for me.

I have a question for you right off the bat. I just torqued up the crankcase of a CB360 thanks to you're helpful answer to someone's query of torque specs. And THEN, I read the rest of the story wherein you advised the application of anti-seize to the threads. Would you pull out the dry bolts, apply the stuff, and retorque one by one or just leave it? Or maybe wait a day to let the gasket goo set?

I'd leave well enough alone personally. If you wanted after you could remove one bolt at a time and apply the anti-seize, but IMHO unless you know you're going back into the bottom end, the anti-seize is a 'nice to have'. I've only rebuilt a few bottom ends and haven't had any issues removing old bolts.

Thanks for the reply. Just what I wanted to hear!
