I tried that Mike, didn't help. Even with the bolt in and db killer installed, there was still enough gap for exhaust to escape through and make an absolute racket. Tried washers, didn't help. Tinnitus-inducing, no shit

This was a labor of love. Started with a basket case and a pallet full of parts. Anyway, wanted to show orange in the front, black in the rear. FWIW, that BUELL front wheel is perhaps the most beautiful sport bike design ever!

Ok! Got the beast up on a stand. Pressure washer broke! Guess it’s a lot of degreaser and old toothbrushes and shit to clean this thing.

Engine so far. Did my clutch pack yesterday. Still waiting for springs to arrive. New carb intake boots. I really hate trying to jam the carb bank back into place. Motor pretty much cleaned and painted. Some touch up needed, though. Found an unopened can of Duplicolor satin finish engine enamel in my cabinet. I bought it who knows when. It’s an unusual color, one I’ve not seen before. It’s kind of silver, kind of bronze? Anyway, I used that shit! I really like it. Now, I’m wondering how the frame would look in bronze? Soda blasted the carbs with a cheapo HF gravity fed pistol. What a mess. Coated my van and turned my grass yellow.
Cam cover needs to be hand sanded to get into all the nooks and crannies. Oil pan and oil filter cover will be raw aluminum.

Pretty sure that's cast iron color. I like it too. I did the headers on my GL in their Header paint in that color.
 
Cool. The can nor cap had the name of the color! Tiny letters on the back above the directions say “Cap indicates color”.

LOL that's funny. the caps usually have a sticker but sometimes they don't.
