Retrospective in Rider Magazine

The December issue of Rider pinpoints Cafe Racers in their usual retrospective at the back of the mag. Clement Salvadori starts out sounding like he'd might as well go ahead and write this thing. He livens things up with a little cafe racer history, and seems to think it takes an Etymologist to determine why Rockers called themselves Rockers., (I think he just had to throw a big word in there because he wasn't writing about the latest techno-gismo from Bavaria.) Mr. Salvadori finishes on pretty much the same note he started out on. I kinda feel sorry for the poor guy, all the other columnists are out riding new bikes. The advertisers aren't gonna like it if he's draggin dirty old Cafe bikes into the mag. Oh well, there's always Motorcyclist Retro.

I've been a subscriber to Classic Bike Magazine for the last 5 years, and I think they regularly pay homage to the cafe bike scene. They're always covering events at the Ace, and test-riding Tritons, Specials, and anything else that's off the beaten path.

I live in the land of the Harley, so even seeing another cafe bike on the road is a miracle, let alone a bike that's under 750cc's.
