Ring gaps

Hi folks! I am building a Yamaha XS850 engine into an 896cc via a big bore kit. I got the new pistons and rings from CruzinImage and was pleased with their quality. However, when I measured the end gap in the rings, I found them to measure 0.014". The factory specification calls for 0.008" - 0.016". So my brand new rings have end gaps very nearly at the maximum recommended value. Should I install them as-is or but new ones and cut the gaps myself? If I am overthinking this, do not be afraid to say so.:)

Yup, that sounds logical. I installed the pistons, rings and cylinder over the weekend. Thanks for the insight!
