Road Trips around ontario

ok ... it's cold and snowy out there. Actually it's unbelievably snowy.

I've been daydreaming ... I'm visualizing riding down a highway in a warm summers day being beaten to death by wind while being drowned out by the sound of 2 mufflers under me, a roar of mufflers aread of me, and a roar of mufflers behind me.

ah .. heaven.

It did get me thinking though ... road trips. I need to do at least a few good long ones this year.

Being based in Toronto, I'd love to know who lives east, west, north and south (northern NY), and would you be open to leading a pack of cafe bikes in your area when the weather gets warm enough to ride. Side roads and non major highways are always the most fun and I figure people that live in the area would know the best routes. i'd think on planning two routes per area - twisty and turny and cruising.

Anyone?

I"m always in for a good ride. My road trips usually end up going up North towards Bancroft/Haliburton area. Buckhorn road, 118, 648 Loop Rd. I'd love to find something new though; those are great roads, but I've done them to death the last few years.

We need to take a couple day trip down into Pennsylvania... the secondary highways are supposed to be awesome. I rode through last spring, but didn't spend enough time to know the good routes as I was only passing through on the way home from Florida and Deal's Gap. If it wasn't for the cold (a chill had rolled in for a couple days on the return leg - almost 0 C in the mornings), I would have enjoyed it more, and really liked what I did ride on. We should do like a week long tour around there and the northeastern states.... that would be pretty intense. We could visit the gang in Ohio and Chicago.

I have found route 22 in new york from about brewster up as far as you like is a good open cruising road. gentle turns and loads of views. I turn back toward route 67 and cut through great barrington mass then down into Connecticut. route 67 is good till seymour to much congestion after that.

I'm always up to offer a tour of Peterborough and the Kawartha roads if people aren't afraid of being hit by falling parts off the Commando. It's been pretty good but you never know.
Leon if you're reading, perhaps get a group together and pitch tents in my backyard.

I am just a we bit North of Toronto and love to ride anywhere! Happy to lead or follow or sweep! :) I know a few nice roads around the North end of Ontario and Hamilton! ;D

chi-town on the bikes would be nice, a huge feat and somewhat of a risk, but would be nice!

i say, fish n chips run and camping to kilarney, do up all the good twisties on the way up and camp out at the provincial park... ;D

but you can't go wrong with any northern ride, all depends on how far you wanna go and if you need to spend the night or two to get it done.

. . . winter blues is a biotch huh?!
