This sickens me to no end on so many levels. I am no stranger to death, even children. I've seen more than I ever imagined I would. I am also no stranger to psychopathic personalities. They are everywhere, all around you, I promise you that. It's scary, and I remember that fact freaked me out more than anything else at the beginning of my career. I can't help but mourn for innocents. In any situation like this there is always an undeserving victim that bears the weight of any selfish motive come to fruition. Miserable people have always been around, and a human's capacity for atrocities will never surprise me due to their ongoing residence in society since its birth. What I can never get used to, however is the people left to bear the burden. Lives were changed forever today. I agree completely that this should not be about guns at all. It is about the decline of the actual care for well being that we have for our fellow man in this modern world. Sure we donate money and pray or whatever else it is that we do that is hands off and PC, but honestly, some people need to be slapped in the face. I can't help to think that in the days leading up to this event that there were indicators and warning signs about the impending doom that was about to unfold. So very very sad.
All that we can do is remain aware and cautious. To compliment that we have to remain compassionate and empathetic. Strong souls and open hearts my friends. Be careful in this world we inhabit, you never know what is around the corner. And stay strong during the onslaught of media spewings on this event in the coming weeks. It's going to get so very ugly, and that is not the legacy that was meant to be left for these people.
Well put, we will be in for a media firestorm aimed at "all the usual suspects". Our inability to come to grips with the evil possible in the fevered minds of men is going to cost us all our freedoms. Sometimes I just wish they would all turn off their cameras and just shut up, or at least pray, I doubt either will happen.
