Ok its been a long time . I had a few set backs do to my shitty clymer never once specified to fill my heads oil ports with oil . So guess what happened when i cold started my little lady nothing butt camshaft tearing into my head like two grown gay men not using vaseline.
So i had to buy a complete new head. Lucky for me some one was generous enough to hook me up for $ 30 bucks for a top end stocked !!
SO now an update every thing is swapped head is all putt together. I am currently charging my battery ,and adjusting my clutch cable then i am going to have to tune this little princes. Cross your fingers for me boys that every thing goes well. Also any one in the OC area know of any one who makes custom brake cables for a reasonable price?? Let a brother know thanks.
Thanks for mentioning that, i put my head on yesterday and didn't fill the ports with oil either. You just saved me a lot of headaches.

Probably the little 'bathtubs' the cam runs in.
You should use some assembly lube on cam journals and lobes when putting top end together, it's one of the differences between an amateur and a professional, knowing what to do ;)

hey man I ride a 360 as well I'm just in y.l. I'm in brea all the time you might have even seen me haha. Small world. Nice build. This might have been covered but I'm on my phone so it's hard to see it all, but are you leaving your frame bare? I've been thinking about that. It looks so amazing but rust would be a problem right?
Thanks Dave! Are you riding the red cb around? if so i have seen you around . i even seen you on the freeway my friend awesome!!!!!
Yeah i stripped the paint from the frame. I was planing on repainting it butt i just fell in love with the rawness of the metal and the welding tabs. Rust can be a problem by weakening the frame. I clear coated the frame with three cans of clear coat, you can even have it powder coated with clear. I dont see us having a problem where we live since CA is desert and the humidity levels are low , just park the bike in doors!!

NO problem man . I am glad i could help. Thats what i love about this site you are always learning something new. I think you can just take the breather off and add some oil in threw there. Good luck check out HONDATWINS.NET . It is a very helpful site dedicated to just honda twins. Cheers

Nothing personal, just a general observation, I've been working on bikes since I was 11 (1968) ;)
Really should have got a 'proper job' ;D

no it's either flat black or raw depending on what tanks on it. No way? I go to southlands. And as for the other comment. I have been through three sets of rings and a head, and feel like I know this bike inside out learning what and whatt not to do. So a "proper" job is one you do yourself. At least you know the mechanics knowledge level. There aren't really any good shops around here. I would know I know almost all the oners, this being about my sixth bike I've restored. Learn to do stuff yourself. It's a dying hobby. Anyways before I started that rabbit trail, I'll be riding it there on sunday anyways so you'll see it.

hear is an image of how i scared up my head for not oiling the cam before a cold star . The oil looked really dirty so i made sure to clean out the oil pump and filter again. I guess an oil flush on a bike that hasent been riden in over 26 years is a good thing!!

Man so this makes you As old as a dinosaur hah j/k
Man thats awesome the love never goes away!! Did you make a living on wrenching o bikes then?
what is your all time favorite bike of your era?

Looking good so far. Can I ask a favor? Could you measure the distance from the top bolt for the tool box to the bottom of your cone filter?
My motor is out and I want to build a battery box, just gotta check clearances.

i couldn't find my measuring tape :-[ , butt i did hold a credit card up to it, and it is about one eighth short to big. i think a credit card is a little over two and a half inches long.

Well i had success last night in getting my bike started, minor technical difficulties some gas leaking from my carbs and a small exhaust leak from where the pipes link up to the head. I ordered a set of exhaust gaskets and carb gaskets as well.
I took some more pictures since the sun came out for a bit, hope you enjoy them.
