Thought I'd post this comparison of soda vs vapour blasting. I originally had my head soda blasted as a complete unit but then I had to tear the head down and buy a new head and cover which were in a bad way aesthetically so I took the chance to have them vapour blasted.
Both heads were roughly in the state below prior to blasting.
Soda blasting was OK left some stains and didn't result in a uniform finish. Vapour blasting on the other hand is amazing and results in a finish that looks like it's been sprayed. Only issue I can see with vapour is the aluminium oxide and glass powder residue which needs to be thoroughly cleaned with petrol, water and an air line.
