Solo Cycles new chop XS400

Just picked up a 1978 yamaha xs400, YES i know its a little guy. This bike is a friends that always wanted a bike, so for one month we were looking for a deal and then BOM found it. There it is day one tear down, and fab up the frame.

I really like the xs model. Should make a good project. What are the other plans and do they include getting rid of the swingarm?

the swing arm is gone and planing to make a classic fricso bobber. its a little bike and motor, but is a 6 speed so there's no problem with speed. I will post some updated pix tonight. the plain is to finish the frame and fab up a tank and bars.

two days of cutting, welding, bending and its almost ready to be on the street. hey guys what do you think of the paint? I can't make up my mind to leave it or paint it.

looking good, i think it might look cool as is, just a little cleanup work on little things you know? so itl be a nice clean raw, but with class.

well we finished up the fab work and painted the frame. we decided to heat up the frame till it turned blue and gold and clear coat it like the fender. Next we have to do the same process to the tank and battery box. and Yes the owner knows he's a troll, i found him under a bridge. let me know what you guys think, you guys have some sweet rides here.

one more thing we named the Bike "SANCHA"
the owner got the bike for a killer deal and he always wanted a bike. when He told his Girlfriend he got a bike she was pissed and told him it was her or the bike....long story short Sancha is in my shop and the girlFriend i mean X-girlfriend is out on the streets.

at least Sancha will never say " no get off me".

Joel, what kind of clear did you use on the frame? I need to strip mine eventually and clear it.

the clear is called the good stuff when u r ready we can clear it.
