You should modify that rad Corbin seat that you have. Something like this:

That was my original plan, i have very little experience with fiber glass. But evrything can be learned, cool suggestion you made, nice shape

is the front wheel going to hit the head when the forks compress?

That i have not checked yet since i not have front brakes connected. I have been worried about that, so i have a coupple of zx400 they are about 40mm longer. So that is my plan B

just undo the fork caps and let it drop. always hard to tell from a pic, but i don't think 40mm would be enough. how big's the wheel?

put the tail light in the back of the modified seat.

I have also been working on the subframe, but im stil not convinced to go for the corbin seat vs cafe style

I would really appriciate some feedback from the community

Cafe pros:
+ can hide all electronics and battery inside the seat
+ more agressive driving position, i would imagine i would have better handling and feel in turns

Cafe cons:
- afraid to build a virago that is just another virago that has been cafe'ed.

Bobber seat

You could make both work if they were removable and have 2 different looks for the bike. I was contemplating doing it on my bike. Personally I like the café seat a little better.
Nice work so far.

After spending 4 hours looking on the bike with different angles on the seatpan + your guys feedback i have landed on cafe look i have also been fantasising of makeing a new frame based on boxed stainless steel, but that has to wait to later, i want the bike up and going this season, but have so little time to wrench on it. So need to prioritate

I have 40mm travel from the tire to the engine/ exhaust. Do some of you know if its possible to put a machanical stopper inside the usd forks to have a security of knowing its impossible that this can happend under a powerful brake down

Not sure about usd forks...on my friends 13 nightster we added 1" of pvc pipe ontop of the spring to add back some height that his progressive springs dropped.

you could put a sleeve in the same size as the lower leg that will sit between the lower leg and cap that will stop it at a certain point. but you'll need to respring it so that the fork load as it hits the spacer is high enough to make it happen very rarely.

you'd want to have 15mm or so minimum clearance. how much sag does it have?
