"Tangerine Dream" / Glemseck - KZ750

May exceed decibel levels but looks really nice. Copy of a DanMoto I guess and they are a copy of something else I suppose. That Db killer is a little restrictive for a snorting 750 on squeeze.

Yes, the mute will just be for the annual MOT test .... after that - it comes out !!

Just had a message from the seller ..... the "silencer" is scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday 9th. Not bad. 8)

Would you mind sharing a link of said "silencer" (or the name under which it is offered on ebay)... I may have an application for something like this in the near(er) future

No probs Greg ........ It's Don Bayler [ Guangzhou ] E-Bay listing # 183713623569. Any probs let me know. TJ

A bit more progress ........ 8)

I fitted the Weber anti-vibration gaskets to make certain we still had clearance around the frame and fittings as it was mighty tight. All OK.

Also the side panels are now shaped to my satisfaction. The shape is in 5mm wood which will also act as the former for the top rolled edge [ under the seat ] to the finished alloy panel. The panel will attach directly to th side of the seat base - which is curved .... that will give a gentle curve to the side panel .... hate flat alloy panels !

We'll get the front of the seat fettled this week and it can go down to my old car trimmer to work her magic.

Might have found the "correct" Silver. I've ordered a touch up sample to try out.

The silencer arrived .... it is the Canine's Cajones.

The material and finish are superb.

I bought a similar item from a UK company a year ago for our "Scream" BMW Oilhead Cafe Racer. It was £125 TRADE, and quite honestly the finish wasn't as good is the Chinabay one. Highly recommended.

hmmm never a fan of the oilheads ...till now :)..... nice beemer

Thanx Wozza.

In keeping with my lifetime creedo of doing something different, I was challenged to design and build an Oilhead in a Cafe Racer style to use as a development platform for all the RAM accessories we had developed. This was it .... sadly sitting in a corner of my pal's workshop gathering dust.

Finally managed to get the Weber attached as it should be, only to remember that the anti-vibration gaskets / plates require Thackery washers and feeler gauges to set them up ! What you forget after 40 odd years !! ::)

Next few jobs will centre around getting the footrests positioned and brackets drawn up / made. At the same time we'll position the half fairing and mock up the mounting brackets.

Then the seat can be surfaced ready for paint and go off to the trimmer for her to work her magic.

Coincidentally TJ, I just bought a very similar pair for a bike I've been working on....hard to believe something like that can be made, shipped halfway round the world and then sold for so little!

It's mad .......... and mine arrived in 7 days ! It is TOP quality.

I was a bit dubious when I ordered it, but I've just ordered another two ! One for my Kay Fighter [ now Cafe Racer ] and the other .... well, who knows when you might need one !

That's sad, TJ. Tell your pal to ship it off to me and I'd make sure that it won't gather dust in my shop... perhaps a little bit of dust out on the highway. Sweet looking ride... and I'm not usually all that fond of orange.

Very sad indeed RS. I spent 5 months in design, development and the build. It's all up and running .... absolutely sweet. Plus all the parts I developed - suspension, ignition module, steering geometry [ check out the adjustable front telelever ] and of course the bodywork styling. Ahhhhhhhhh.

All work has stalled due to my pal Brian being extremely ill. Both him and his wife have life threatening issues and at age 80 I'm spending time looking after them.

Just realised, he's been my pal for half of his life ....................

I'll be doing some minor work like completing the pattern making on the seat and final prep for upholstery and some minor brackets.

All the best to Brian and his wife, and hope for a recovery and many more years.

Brian and his wife have a good nurse. You know what they say about friends in need.

Many thanx......... FIVE hospital appointments between them next week. Neither of them can drive at the moment. I'd do 10 appointments if needed.

Hey Beach, nice to see you back working on some projects, just been checking out this build. Some great work, I'll be keeping an eye on progress. Hope you're all good, its been a few years since I picked up that TR1 haul, and since I've been on here......
Im looking forward to seeing the finished article :D
