Might pay to tap and add a grease nipple. Function before form.

I was just thinking that myself. THANKS

With great success, I did do just that w the BMWs clutch lever.

It has tiny needle bearings and is virtually un-servicable without a huge teardown.

And I continue to contend that a rat bike (or rod) should FUNCTION very well. To hell with appearance. You are definitely doing this right!

Aw, but just a bit ago I remembered that I haven't put o-rings on the top plugs yet. THAT would have been messy!

Re: Black Knight, The Battle of the Brake rages on...

Or you can pick Rachels complete playlist...

Justin Timberlake radio...period, thats the only thing she's got. OMG LOLOL. Its freaking terrible.

But she is well aware when I walk into the garage...Thats the first thing that gets changed.

Re: Black Knight, The Battle of the Brake rages on...

I've got a folder of Dean Martin, Carole King, and Frank Sinatra on my GoldWing. Also my favorite 2 guitarists - Chet Atkins and Les Paul on another folder. But then another folder ranges from Rick Wakeman to Classical to show tunes. I was pretty lucky in the 70's - spent 50% of the disco era under water. The sub had one channel on the ship's entertainment system that was all Wayne Newton, however. Irks my wife that I like to listen to news (not talk) radio at times.

Re: Black Knight, Devil in the Details

A few weeks ago I received the new Hagon shocks.

I was a bit disappointed that they came w cheapy looking collets and they really dont fit as nice as they could. :p

11494-151018183249-45571769.jpeg

The collets on the older 360 shocks are cast w Hagon incorporated into them w black plastic insulators to finish with a nice fit.

11494-151018183249-45561483.jpeg

So, I sent an email to Hagon.uk asking about this change in collets and if the old style were still available.

A salesman named Dave promptly e-mailed me back.

Saying "Hagon discontinued the old style cast collets as they didn't work as well w the inverted dirt bike shocks as the new collets. However, he would look around and see if he could dig up a set."

Imagine my surprise...a couple weeks later a set of cast collets complete w insulators arrived in my mailbox. AND at NO CHARGE.

AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! 8)

I looked into making a compressor myself...I ordered a cheapy and hopefully SAFER one from Amazon.

11494-151018184925.png

The compressors are actually really nice quality. Small and dont take up much space in the toolbox.

Stainless bodies they come w extra pairs of plastic jaw liners and a nice steel storage box.

I added some small pieces of leather to further insulate the painted shock bodies.

And worked slick. :)

and VIOLA! Just a little detail that makes me happy. ::)

Re: Black Knight, Devil in the Details

I was really hoping to get a good start on the rebuild this weekend.

I ordered the updated aluminum cam chain tensioner arm, slipper/tensioner blades and cam chain...

This is what I get from David Silvers spares...Aarrrgh. :(

Re: Black Knight, Devil in the Details

Oh man. That's a shame. What's on backorder? Is it something you can cancel and order from someone else?

Re: Black Knight, Devil in the Details

I could contact them to find out what it is.

However, the chain and blades Im getting are Genuine Honda.

4into1 only has replica stuff, they do carry the upgraded tension arm...out of stock on that.

Hoping DSS will come through pretty quick.

And I still have stuff I can do...like clean gasket surfaces. ::)

Re: Black Knight, Devil in the Details

And besides the only real deadline for the build is,

Me wanting to hear it with the Supertrapp.

Re: Black Knight, Devil in the Details

Looks like my David Silvers order has shipped.

Fingers crossed its here Saturday. :)

Re: Black Knight, Devil in the Details

Some asshole expedited this to me for the rebuild... ;)
