Dyslexics of the World - Untie!

This is a picture of a great friend, a fellow by the name of Nick Hardie, who is a phenomenal hot rod builder, painter, and a master of aging and patina. (If you have a chance, check out issue #34 of Rodder's Journal for some of his work). He's taking my freshly-painted gas tank and seat away to do some pinstriping magic. I gave him the colors (vintage orange and antique white) and he's otherwise in complete control of the final results. It'll be cool, no matter what.

He looks like an artist. :D

I'm sure you'll have a hard time being patient. :)

Now THAT's a Hot Rodder!
I mean who else would louver the hood of a mid '80's Chrysler Fifth Avenue?!

Ha. I was thinking the same thing. I was just trying to figure out if it was a Cordoba or Fifth Avenue.

Good eye! '85 Chrysler Fifth Avenue. It's his bombing-around/winter-beater. He filled an old antenna hole with a penny. :) His summer rides include several '32 and earlier Fords and a really kick-ass Jeepster.

That tank work is outstanding.

Nice!!
If I tried that it'd look like a 6.3 on the seismograph.

The seat is from Hot Wing Glass (http://hotwingglass.com/) and it works decently. If I want to pull the seat off I unsnap the cover, pull the seat foam off the bottom (velcro'd on) and pull the 2 Dzus fasteners that hold it down in the back. The front is anchored via a plate which gets stuck under the gas tank mount. The big downside to the snaps is the front snaps rub the frame the way I have it mounted. The paint is already buggered there, but fortunately you'll never see it.
