The Meltdown 2016 Raffle Bike '71 BSA

Speedfiend

Coast to Coast
That's right!
Ton Up Highlands is giving away a custom 71 BSA to someone at the Meltdown. Must be present to win.
We will be selling only 500 tickets at $20 pr. No limit on how many you can buy. Pre sells will be up on our site soon.

Here's what we are started with. A 71 BSA Firebird Scrambler. Clean bike, clear tittle. Aside from sitting for a decade, in great shape. But it could be a lot cooler...

Re: The Meltdown 2016 Raffle Bike

We got the bike over to my old man's shop and have begun work. First order of buisness, fix the broken kick start rachet gear. Then the plan is to give it a cafe facelift. Along with new tires from our show sponsor Continental Tires. New chain, cables, brakes and a few other bits

The seller tossed in a Euro OIF tank. And we ordered a new bump seat from Hot Wing Glass.

Next to mount the seat and side covers. And work out the rearsets.

OIF BSA's are not exactly the most sought after models. Restoring one would cost double its value. And not increase its value much.Which makes them great candidates for customs. Every bit a classic Brit, but still fairly affordable. One big mark against them is their ugly and notoriously leaky tanks. You can see evidence of the leaks in that first pic.

But sure. If you win it we will throw in the old tank and seat.

Yes, must be present to win.
This was not an easy decision. It'd probably be easier to sell tickets if you didn't.But the point of this is to bring people to the show and make the show more awesome. Last year a sponsor raffled a bike at our show. The crowd was standing there, tickets in hand and....drum roll please..... some asshole sitting home in WV won the thing. Very anticlimactic. We feel that we owe it to the people who come out to support us.

Which leaves you with only one option - come on down!
We give a gift certificate for new Continental Tires to the longest ride in. Guys have riden from Chicago, Pittsburgh,CT, and won free tires
Just saying....

It was anticlimactic. No picture of a dude on a bike with a grin from ear to ear.

Yeah. Last year, it seemed perfect. A shop/ sponsor jumped in with a raffle bike for the show. We thought" Great! We get to give away a bike. And we don't have to do anything! "
But the we found out it was a Sportster. Meh, OK. Then the other thing.

So this year we are doing it ourselves. And doing it right. Giving away a bike that is more in the spirit of our show and our club.

New tires and brake shoes. Feul lines and petcocks. Sorted out the wiring and new battery. And she runs!
Next to work out the rear sets, seat and tail light.
