Coast to Coast
Rims and spokes are ordered. Going to run wm2x18 front and wm3x18 rear. Now I have to quit putting off spraying the hubs with cerakote. But I'll be able to decide kickstand placement and figure out foot controls.
Yeah, I've got an end piece for the back of the filter as well. Hopefully it'll work as nice as it looks. I just finished the other 2 stacks for it. Still a little clean up to do and add mounts.Did you machine plate with the stacks that will marry to the carb-bank? The whole setup looks clean man.
Pods right on the carb never give the best performance. Stacks can work great, but aren't the best for street riding. Stock airbox tends to be best unless you have done a lot of modifications. I figure keeping the stacks very similar to stock with a decent filter will give me the best compromise. Since it's not a stock frame I can't really use the original intake, but this keeps the intake length, and a filter. From my experience, with the butt Dyno and lap times, the stock airbox rubbers do the best job of getting air into the carbs compared to straight stacks or pod filters. I think your stacks will be close to perfect. Nice work.
this is the smartest solution. Too bad the stacks will be covered as they are nice looking too.Pods right on the carb never give the best performance. I actually ground a tool to clean up the back side of the bellmouth. Even if they aren't seen I'll know if I don't clean it up.this is the smartest solution. Too bad the stacks will be covered as they are nice looking too.
Yes sir, if yer gunna do it might as well do it right!I actually ground a tool to clean up the back side of the bellmouth. Even if they aren't seen I'll know if I don't clean
Yep, the hand ground tool did pretty good.Yes sir, if yer gunna do it might as well do it right!
I got it off amazon. It's a tru-tension laser monkey. I've done 3 motor swaps just using a chain and straight edge to get things lined up, so I decided I wanted something to double check things in the future. The way I've been doing it works, but this will hopefully make it easier.Looking great. That's a neat little tool for sprocket alignment.
Thanks! My choices were open stacks, pods, the cognito intake, or make my own. Pods aren't great and I didn't feel like modifying stacks to take filters. Stacks are better but no filtering. The cognito intake looks restrictive. So this is what I chose to do.Real nice!
