TRX Cafe Racer

i'll be able to tell you after i finish the bike and get it running. It will be around 8hp from what i have seen. The TRX850 had around 70hp and with pipes, carbs and ignition it get to around 80hp and up to 90 with pistons and cams.
Nothing that great by todays standard but that about the same as I get from my ducati ST2 cafe racer. I had a TRX850 back in 96 and they were a nice bike.

Just to clarify, was that Fabulous skills or fabrication skills ? LOL :D
Thanks, no real skills, just a bit of elbow grease and a area to throw shit around

Electricery next and last :D

BOTM contender when it's done I reckon......amazing bike that looks like it will handle and go some as well....loving the detailing and build quality.

A great platform to start with and an awesome build. I love that you didn't go down the route of using a 50's/60's style rounded seat tail unit (which seems to be par for the course these days). Absolutely love this bike. If I could choose a bike to build it would either be this or first choice Ninja EX650. Looking forward to seeing the video of you giving it a good thrashing :)

I think a video will be in order, I'm looking forward to hearing it

Just superb. Loving this bike. Glad you made out okay after the crash. Keep up the great work. Were you a machinist or where did you learn those great skills?

82 Honda CB900C is my first attempt of a bike upgrade

thanks mate, no just a hobby, not a machinist, was an electrician in a former life

Where could an inexperienced guy like myself get equipment like that? I would love to make that for my bike.

My neighbour is a multi skilled engineer and has just upgraded his Myford lathe to something a bit more sophisticated, he loved his Myford and made plenty of good stuff on it.

Here's an ebay link, you'll be surprised how little they cost: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Myford-Lathe-ML4-/282071173430?hash=item41acc08936:g:M8QAAOSw-4BXZDRb

I guess there are workshop engineering suppliers in your area. The cost of my machines and tooling is about $5k plus all the normal stuff you need, battery drills, multimeter etc

Half way through the wiring now, almost done, just got to changeover the speedo and tidy the cabling.

So sunday night i finally got it to a stage of being able to fire it up, dash on, all electrics working. Petrol in, thumbed the starter and it ran after 1/2 a second and idled like a dream. Can't believe it seems so smooth and at this stage, perfectly jetted after all the work that has gone on - FCRs, foam filter, exhaust, coils, engine work etc.

Today is raining but I will hopefully finish tidying the wiring up tonight and tomorrow when its fine i will take it around the block, then a RWC later friday or saturday.
