hey guys, so im trying to decide whether or not to mount turn signal lights on my bike.
if i do, im going to buy short ones. but im liking the clean look of no turn sigs.
but i also dont wanna get ran into by a car lol

what are your guys personal preference? light, no lights, ?
thanks.

Im not running any on my 350. Mostly because I dont like the look of them. The way I figure it, if someone is paying enough attention to see your signals, they'll see your arm out. I could be wrong, but thats how Im rollin'. May be a bit sketchy at night, but Ill deal with it.

i'm putting them on my 350. i like the look of the ones i got, and i don't want to risk anything at night.

Man, the way I see it is people over-look riders too often as is! Having a flashing light signaling your intentions can only help them see you, not hurt! I say find the ones you like the best (even if you still don't really like) and run them! Better to ride a bike with a couple of un-cool safty features than to never ride again!

Relying on hand signals is retarded. How many drivers today even know what those mean? It's also dumb to take your hand away from your handlebar so you can wave your arm around. You have much less control when you do that.

My bike has two big ass brake lights that double as turn signals, and big signals close in by the headlight.

Form follows function, people. Don't be a fashion victim, like the chopper douche bags.

Oh! Also! It can be quite difficult to turn/brake/clutch/shift/stop while hand signaling! Unless you have at least three arms!

very true. id rather be seen and keep being seen, instead of being hit. im goin with the lights. i found some little 3"x2" lights on ebay, and theyre black, which saves me the paint work lol.

Well... The masses have spoken. Good thing Im not building the bike for you GuitarGeek... Also I get why you want the signals. Im not saying that they are a bad idea. Everyone calm down... I just wont be running them. Maybe ill throw em on later, maybe I wont. And GG, looking at your taillight/signal setup, with the lights that close together how much of your intentions are put forth? Are u sure it doesnt just look like a flashing light on the ass end of your bike? Theres a reason why the signals on a factory bike are so far apart. I guess its not fashionable to have them so far apart though... ;)

just got a good look at the ebay signals, they suck, theyre way to damn big.
i wish theyd make invisible signals so they wouldnt be noticible on the bike lol.

That are ugly as fuck...

You spread your opinion like fact...

Nice jumpsuit by the way... Talk about fashion victim. haha

Don't like any you see on EvilBay? MAKE EM!!!

http://www.superbrightleds.com.

These guys are cool. I'm making all the lighting for the next build I do. They have sockets and LED's that plug into them.

I'd much rather have big ole ugly turn signals than a stupid drunk run up my ass and make it so I can never ride again... that's my stance.. If you can make them not as ugly, good for you!!

Get em' man. Its your baby. If you like em' go for it. Thats all that matters. As long as you feel comfortable/happy with the end result than do it brother! ;D ;D

Signals or not, if they want to pull out in front of you they will LOL. Hell I got hit HARD in my BRIGHT RED pickup truck...pretty hard to miss a 4000lb truck, but apparently people have the ability to see right through a solid object. I figure you could have a lighthouse beacon stuck on yer bike to warn others of your intensions and the fuckers would still try to kill ya.

Good luck with the hunt for signals.....but the BAT SIGNAL aint gonna help any of us.

i dont really like any of the ones ive seen, but i figure theyre probably better than the old beat up stock ones i removed.. maybe painting them? hmmm lol.
and it seems pointless to put little tiny lights that would be seen even less, but like m357.5 said, people will probably still not see us. lol.

Oh jesus. Why does everyone on here want to argue all the goddamn time? GG, your turnsignals are great. I hope they work wonderfully for years to come, and every car ever will see them and you will be safe forever. Honestly, good work. I wish you years and years of safe riding.

Hurley, signals are up to you. LED units are generally smaller, but brighter. They also cost more for good ones, but if you want them spend the cash. Itll be worth it. Heres a site where you can get flush mount LED signals. There for modern sportbikes, but you could make them work, Im sure.

outta curiousity, what's the legal requirement for spacing between indicators stateside? (for those states that do need them)

here in ostraya, they can be no less than 30cm (12") apart. sucks a bit of ass for tiny bikes...
