Vapor Blast Solutions located in Santa Fe, NM offers Vapor Blast Service for motorcycle restorations or rebuilds.

Vapor Blasting process uses a slurry of water and fine glass beads, accelerated with compressed air onto the part being cleaned. It does not leave gritty, engine damaging abrasive residue or porous surface, like dry blasting does.

Vapor blasting process provides a peening effect, resulting in a smooth surface, unlike the dry abrasive blast processes which tend to roughen the surface. The surface literally appears just as it did when first manufactured. The part surface does not mark easily and when it does, it cleans easily because of the 'closed' texture of the surface.

Special: Carburetors are ultrasonic cleaned then vapor blasted to like new for $20 each !!

Re: Vapor Blasting

This is more out of curiosity on pricing for vapor blasting in general. But what does it typically cost to vapor blast an engine? Charged per piece or by hour?

Pricing for vapor blast work is more affordable than you might think. The below prices are examples and are intended to provide an idea on cost.
It is not possible to list all of the different type parts that can be processed

Crankcase- Both Halves: $35
Cylinder Head- Single Cylinder: $20
Cylinder Head- Twin: $45
Cylinder- Single: $20
Cylinder- Twin: $35
Carburetor (includes ultrasonic cleaning): $20
Wheel Hub: $20

Price to Vapor Blast a complete engine is based on the size of engine , single cylinder / 4 cylinder? and exactly which parts you want blasted (i.e. head, cylinder, crank cases, carbs).

For best price include as many parts as possible. Send list of parts for a quote to: vaporblastsolutions@gmail.com
You can spend countless hours or days using brushes and gas or solvents cleaning parts, or blowing baking soda on them and the finish would not compare with that of the vapor blast.
Check out website for photos of resulting finishes.
