VM36 on GN400, need some help

Alright so I'm running a VM36 on my GN400 and the damn is running super super rich. Like black smoke coming out of the tailpipe, smelling terrible, super hard to start, etc.

When I took out the jets it had a 50 pilot and a 360 main - which is ridiculous. I dialed it down to a 27.5 pilot and 220 main, and it is still running rich. I have a 2.0 slide, 6F15 needle w/ clip on the top position, mixture screw is 2 turns out.

The inside of the carburetor is wet with fuel, the slide is wet with fuel, and the intake is wet with fuel. What the hell is going on?

I'm about to just put the stock CV carb back on lol

Forgot to mention when it had the 50 pilot jet in it, it would MIST up the whole garage with fuel smoke. With the 27.5 it still smokes but not as bad - black smoke out the exhaust and a little smoke everywhere else lol. Maybe I need a 15 pilot or something?

Yeah I guess that's what I'm going to have to do.

I tried to find a starting point by looking at what jetting people are using for SR400's since there isn't much info for GN400's with the VM36, but I guess jetting for the SR is completely different.
