I need a set of CB or CL 450 forks - K0 style external spring to cannibalize - the fork tubes can be bent, broken, rusty, the sleeves can be gouged, chopped, oxidized or even missing.
what I need are the internals - the guide pipe - part number 14 in the below diagram

That's the top bush isn't it? Are they still available from Mr Honda?

yes - top bushing
not sure who/what Mr Honda is? I've found these bushings on eBay but they are nearly $50 each (NOS ones fetch $150)

What are they made of? If you get the dimensions, I could turn a set on the lathe

Honda usually made them out of aluminum back then but bronze would be a nice upgrade I think or does anyone sell a teflon coated set that could be machined to fit? Most teflon bushes are really thin, so perhaps a stock worn out pair of OEM bushes could be machined to fit a pair of new bushes if they are available for such skinny forks.

Might be worth checking the fork listings to see what's out there.

since they stay in place and the fork slides inside them, I think they are probably bronze - aluminium might work, provided the inside doesn't scratch up the fork tubes (shouldn't!)

Hurco, I could give you dimensions how much to turn some spacers?

just get me the material and overall diameter. If i have a chunk "in stock" it won't cost much, maybe $35 to do the turning. If I don't have the stock, itll be whatever the material costs + the $35

Thanks Hurco! I just found and recieved a top triple clamp that will work (I have access to a vintage motorcycle salvage yard and am doing this entire build from there) so I just need to mock up the forks in the frame with a wheel and get the length that I will need to lower it - else I can just get you the inner/outer diameter and have to make them 3" long and I can cut them down to size here....
