What did you build this week?

Looks great justin. Looks like a nice patch of ground to live on as well!
Thanks Levi,
It's taken me ~10 years to get to a point where I can move out of the shop and into a real house lol. The wife will be thrilled....if I ever find the time to finish it.
The land isn't too bad, very remote with no neighbors to speak of. We love it.

Trust me, unless you bought a huge buffer of land around it, neighbors will happen. The big pasture that was on the downhill side of us is now a fully developed sub-division. Luckily, an empty pond buffers us on one side.

I did :D
I don't like neighbors.

A few months ago I picked up 2 of these subwoofer drivers from an auction for Thiel Audio going out of business. (Owner died and son didn't want to continue)
High Dollar audiophile stuff. I got 2 sub drivers for 75 bucks (the complete subs sold for 5K each). I really regret not buying more at the auction, 25K speakers going for 800 bucks should have stocked up. Subs are 12" and weigh 40lbs each they are monsters. Biggest magnet I've ever seen. They take 1250 watts each to drive them.

I've had one in a temporary box for the last few weeks and it absolutely pounds, and sounds good doing it. Color me impressed. I'm super excited to get a pair in there in proper sized boxes.

So I needed some boxes. Finally got around to getting them made:
Simple MDF construction with walnut veneer on 5 sides. No ports, small (18x18x18) sealed box with a shitload of power for clean bass.

Not so much a build as a redo. Jill asked me to get this old chaise lounge redone for her for xmass. Been sitting for prob 2-3 years. One side almost done. One to go then apolstery.

I made my cheap utility trailer safe to tow. The last owner booger welded some janky stuff to raise the coupler on the tongue. I chopped the redneck off, and fixed it with some 3" box tube.

There you go, that thing was a disaster beforehand!

I built some metal posts to support my porch I beam this week:
Now I just have to get the wood cut to notch in there and then get it decked so I can roof the damn house. It's taken forever.

Are you using sip panels? I am sure you are already aware of how necessary it is to shed water from a home, but for what its worth I will say it. I work with a civil engineer that uses sip panels on timber frame home designs. I was speaking with him about sip de-lamination, and he said he has seen it before whenever a roof does not shed water away correctly and something with a 12/12 roof pitch generally works the best because he likes to extend the roof ever so slightly (or even to build a wrap around porch) to keep water off the structure. I hope me saying all this didn't come off as me saying I am a know it all or being a douche bag. I just thought it was interesting

With all that said, I really really like the way your home looks. The shed roof is super cool!

No worries!
Yes it's sip panels but they are made with Zip sheet on the outside and they are foamed in place with polyurethane foam so there's not much delamination risk like with a polystyrene foam and adhesive.
(Basically these are made as one piece, not a piece of foam glued to two pieces of wood)
Traditional sips are just syrofoam glued between OSB which does delaminate when wet.
