What do you CB350 guys use as a fork brace?

Less is more
As of right now I'm not running a for brace and after a few coments from DTT members, I have been convinced to use one. My plan is to use the stock fork brace and to remove the fender from it, but it looks a bit flimsy. What are some other options? I would like to find or make a fork brace that is functional and doesn't look this Hideous.

I use a flat track brace. They come blank so you need to drill holes. Just make sure the measurements fit your fork.

I use one on my CB750 and CB550. You can barely tell they're there - plus, if you're using boots, the boots slide right over them.

Kit (mysta2) made one for his 360, and it is RAD.

Of course, he has some resources that most of us don't have access to....

I don't think they make one that will fit the CB350. Any of the ones I have seen wont clear the tire.

If I hade a cnc or water jet, I could make an entire bike from scratch. To bad I don't :(

Stock is better than nothing. It isn't trying to stop forks moving up and down, just stop them twisting so thin original mount works

Bad news... I cut the stock fork brace from the fender and tried to fit it to the forks and it rubs the tire big-time. I'm just running Avon Road Rider 100/90V18. So now that the stock brace wont fit, what do I do now other than just not run one?

Fit a 90/90 18.A 100/ is too wide for the rim and for light steering. It might have come with the equivalent of a 80/90 18 when new.

100/90 is too wide for stock 1.60 rim, fit 90/90 and don't have a problem.
Obviously you are concerned with handling or you wouldn't be trying to fit a brace

Probably the best bet is to get something custom, or take the stock brace off the fender and refit it for your purposes

I tried fitting the stock brace and the tire is to big for it to work.

Sorry, I missed your previous message about the stock brace. I've been digging around the internets as i also need something for this. something that would fit the 350 seems pretty scarce.

I don't have the large front tire though. I hate to suggest that maybe your front tire is too big. I thought i read somewhere about people running 90/90 on the front.. But i don't really know. I've not tried to replace the front yet.

How loose are the ends of the forks if you have the wheel and fender off, can they noticeably twist if you strattle the forks grab the bars and twist? Not every motorcycle needs a fork brace, cb350's may be one that does, but it's simple to check.

I've got a 400 front tire (Firestone) and tried to get the stock brace to work... Not even close. Just turning the bars while stationary (not even straddling the wheel) I can see the forks twisting from the weight of that big ass front tire.

I haven't ridden it yet though... still putting finishing touches on her after a frame up rebuild. It will be an around town bike... basically replacing my 50cc moped for around town jaunts and the occasionally bar hop. I imagine the steering will be pretty atrocious, but I'm not gonna be pushing it in the slightest... That's what my 600RR track bike is for ;).

If it's so bad that it's unrideable even for my purposes, I will probably first try to fab something up out of a strip of metal or if that fails (which is likely, given my fab skills...) I'll swing by a local machine shop and I'm sure they'll be able to get something worked up for it. No worries.

Take a look at :

I've been chatting back and forth with the store owner that sells this. Turns out i've been wrong all along. (i'm not really surprised)

The above is designed to fit between the fork tubes, the other one listed previous is actually supposed to sit offset to the front or rear of the tubes. They have a few other models with various placements that may meet your needs. I think i'm going to try again with one of these.

Google "superbrace." They make braces for a lot of different models--maybe they have one to fit yours. Maybe Omar's DTR as well?
