What's with the Facebook "like" thingy....

Why has that shit suddenly appeared on very post I look at now? Can you turn it off?? It's annoying.
 
Was waiting on some reaction, good or bad - I can turn it off, but let's see how it goes for more than a few hours ;)
 
Put me down for dislike on this one. But I do like that you're still tweaking and adding to the experience here. Don't stop doing that.

Ditto for me. I'm sure it could be useful for some folks, but I don't belong to any social media sites.

I appreciate the aim of general improvement, but I'm not a fan of the social network connections.
 
Tim - it's a great forum and the SMF software works really well but, like the others above, I am not fond of the new addition.

I have No problem with the addition. It doesn't even get in the way of Anything. So.. if you don't have Any social media accounts.. why do you care? Here's some positive input on how this addition could end up being very useful: Bike of the Month voting/winners - For sale/eBay threads/WTB and individual member builds where somebody wants to link something they liked or an entire build. I don't see the bad in this.

I've never been on myspace/facebook/twitter/etc. and really have no desire to do so.


Did somebody mention strippers?
 
If you could turn them off in your account settings like you can with signatures and avatars that would be OK.
 
OK - maybe this works better - only appears on the first post of a topic. Better?

Allows people to easily post a topic they 'like' to their FB page, which exposes it to all their 'friends', many of which of course are not DTT members etc. The more the merrier.

Bottom line is with nearly a billion people actively using Facebook on a regular basis, it's impossible to ignore and while there are a ton of good reasons to not use Facebook at all, it's kind of like there are a ton of good reasons to not drink beer or eat bacon.
 
I can live with it at the top of the page, but im not on facebreak, miseryspace or twatter so ill likely never use it :) kudos for always looking for features to add tho.
 
I'm an old fart and I'm on it ALL! ;) Cell phones, interweb, email, forums, facebook, twitter... it can all be useful. :)

Facebook has been huge for my wife and I keeping in touch with the kids/grandkids and hooking up with old friends. It could be quite useful for connecting with even more folks in the "motorcycling world".

Twitter is still a little new to me, but I'm getting used to it and it's been fun too! 8)

Keep on stretching us Tim! ;)
 
In all honesty... Who cares? Its not interrupting anyone ability to peruse DTT, right? The whole "facebook sucks" posted on a web forum thing cracks me up.
