Where are you located Road Rash? I have been coming accros plenty of kz 1,000 latley for around a thousand bucks in my area maybe less

I'm in Pittsburgh, PA. every time something similar comes along, I don't have the cash. Such is the story of my life.

Dammit, you all jusmped in with the Vincents, Broughs and Square fours already all of which would be bloody great. I have to say I'd love an old R100 beemer though.

RE5, RZ500, and would have to say a street legal TZ750 would be the bomb!! Oh, and about 50 other bikes, hahaha
kev

...and even though I wouldn't touch a hair on its head, I always had a soft spot for the BMW K1.... but it couldn't make a donor bike, that would be very naughty.

Oh My God!
$210,000 reserve :'(

For a few extra dollars (relative at this point) you could just get 3 falcons. I can't see the reserve being met.

Yamaha XS650 lots of potential, lost of aftermarket support

I have to say I never fancied a Vinnie. Had several opportunities in the day.

One especially that belonging to a pal. He was having a race with a 3.8 Jag and it got into an almighty tank slapper [ look at that wimpish back end ]and spat him down the road about 100mph. Fortunately he was OK apart from bruises and cuts. Actually the bike was OK 'ish as well - at least it was rideable. I could have bought it then and there [ 1964 ] for £25. To put that into perspective a secondhand Rocket or Matchless would be about £60 !

The big Vincents were quite notorious for these antics. A Norvin - that would be another matter.

210K is overpriced.
I was thinking around 140K in today's economy
I guess he ain't hurting for cash so will hold onto them until someone want's an 'investment'

One of the problems with Vinnies (as I see it) is the people who know and love Vinnies are getting older and dying off. A lot of todays generation have never heard of a Vincent and couldn't care less. Their 600 sportbike will run circles around a Vinnie so why would they want it? Along with drum brakes and girdraulic forks. I would love to own a Spitfire from WW2 but I don't want a Fokker triplane from WW1.

"Vinnie" - English slang for Vincent [ both name and product ]
An "Arfer" [ cockney pronunciation of Arthur ] was a Comet -
ie "Arfer Vinnie" [ half of a Vincent ].

We used to say that Triumph frames [ 50's ] were "hinged in the middle" due to the weave set up on long bends by the flimsy frames.
The Vincent was actually no better when a little wear had set in with the rear suspension and that was my theory as to why so many Vinnies had tank slappers !

A well sorted Norvin with conscientious suspension and brake upgrades.
