What's your trade?

thats trick :)
was that cf tunnel cover just beauty or structural ? goddam you sure dont wanna get in there with the robots do you ? i mean they look graceful and harmless but them things would squish you like a bug if you got pinched

My official title is Systems Development Engineer, but that doesn't really do a good job of describing my day-to-day.

I spend equal parts in Software System Architecture, Project Management, and People Management. The people I manage are all Computer Science students at the local university.

Basically, we write software for clients and I teach the kids how to do it for real and not just in a classroom.

I'm also semi-pro at motorcycle wiring. ;)

Honestly I have so many NDAs I don't even remember what the parts do...lol
I actually do the component that lets the robot pick up tools and change jobs. We also help develop the cells and how the robots do their jobs.
Fun times.

I enjoy getting to see new cars a few years before they go public.

Man, with the trades y'alls have I feel sooooooo inferior.

But, good on you. Makes me feel good America still has a lot of smart peeps.

Way to go......y'alls.

I just finished my master architecture degree at the Technical University in Vienna, so as i read earlier I also connect dots with lines and draw rectangles that ought to be a building.
From competition levels all down to detail work i have done everythi g concerning architecture.
Before i finished my studies i had shitty jobs, running a bar at a fitness center, worked in a laboratory (boring as eff) etc. etc.
The architecture job i work in now is quite stressful most of the time, competition time means working 2-3 weeks straight,no week ends, dead lines and sh.

My dad is an architect too but works mostly in our 150 year old small and humble 2man brass workshop.
I live in the district in vienna where chandeliers were made, brass and crystal work.
We produce design pieces made mostly out of heavy sand casted brass, every piece is handmade and indivdually finished.customers mostly in the US.
We dont have much high tech stuff and machines most work get s done by hand.
This is also where my heart beats, the architecture has become a IT business with too less money involved here, so on the weekends i mostly hang out on the week ends in the work shop and work on my bikes.
Though about learning a different trade aditionally (maybe welder) to forge my skillset.

Brass isn't very conductive, though. 28% of copper, where aluminum is 61%.

So you need a ground strap from the plug base to the case for max spark? or why would it matter?

I was referring to cooling. Good conductivity is needed for cooling.

Musician from an Engineering family, I have minimal mech and elect engineering training myself... gave up music (professionally... still play everyday) for computers in the 90s. Currently I do web & IT stuff for a cool mid-year vette and classic muscle car specialized restoration shop.

Jesus.

Electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity are 2 completely different things folks.

Brass isn't very good at either.

Diamond. Make the head out of diamond.
