Bromz is getting started on his KZ1000 he bought it from his wives Uncles estate. Been riding it for 3 years, its developed a couple oil leaks and is ready for some TLC.

I offered to let him do the work in my (trek97) garage. I got the 48" flat screen+blu ray,and xbox what more could he need...Oh yea, I got HEAT and A/C too, and only 14 minute drive from his house. Otherwise its 45 minutes to the barn on his families farm.

Most important its always good to have a buddy to laugh at you when you make a critical error.

Ever get that funny feeling when Clint Eastwood and a midget are looking over your shoulder?

Bromz made pretty quick work of her. 3 hours or so.

Also, anyone know what causes all four plugs to get a powdery white corrosion on the shiny part?

Good ol' exposure to the elements I'd say

Yeah I'm curious. This bike sits inside. Only outside when it sits at work.

They only need to get wet a few times then heated up by running to get that kind of patina, looks normal to me!

Starting some work on the side covers. Gonna go for the brushed aluminum look.

Getting ready to bead blast the cases. I will post some finished pics later

Well the wife is in Florida so I'm off work with the little girl! So gonna take advantage with my extra time and work on this engine. Gonna paint the jugs black then sand the face of the cooling fins than a light coat of clear. Hope it looks as good as I think it will. Gonna bake these jugs in the oven to cure the paint.

My only disappointment with my '80 KZ1000A is that I never know how fast I'm going. I hate the 80MPH speedometer...
