So you know, tomorrow when Im at work I'm grabbing a ton of brass washers and stealing the shit out of your idea. That seat is perfect. Hope yer hay doesnt get rained on before its bailed and in. Easy to loose a lot to mould.
Haha, you can tell yer boss some redneck farm hand had something to do with it ;D .
Yeha man I'm super stoked about the seat. Absolutly no way in a million years I could build anything close. Truly an art and I figured the bike deserved better than I could do.

Getting hay in this year has been a bitch. I think I've lost more than I've put in the barn ::) ::) . Two weeks ago I had an entire field cut that I never did get to bale. I'm sure I lost at least 500. Oh well, this game ya win some and lose some.

Re: Willow..Alchemy upholstery rocks!

Troy has balls o steel.

Sorry guys, couldn't resist.

Re: Willow..Alchemy upholstery rocks!

I would bet thw wing nut is temp until another acorn nut is found. Looks amazing Troy, maybe we can do a rain dance here and there to get you a day off the fields ;D it is rainig like a bugger here and I would love to send it your way.

Keep it up, this versionof the bike is the best one yet!

Re: Willow..Alchemy upholstery rocks!

Wow! That seat looks even more amazing on the bike than in the previous pics. Well done boys!

Re: Willow..Alchemy upholstery rocks!

Wingnut allows for you to swivel the seat out of the way to access...the area under the seat?

Ride side saddle?

Lean into the turn without moving your butt from the seat?

Re: Willow..Alchemy upholstery rocks!

Wow....( I know...that's all I ever say...Haha)

Sooo......what' s the thread pitch on those seat mounting studs? Unless of course you have a cunning plan in place already.....

Thanks.
The wing nut doesn't really fit/match anyhow. I picked up another nickle acorn and trimmed the stud to fit.

Thanks man. Yeah I think its important to practice restraint on this one. Its a fine line to cross. I love the fact that the bike looks a little plain/stripped but when you start studying it there is more there than meets the eye.

Thanks Mike. Much appreciated! Yep wing nut is gone. Ya never know till ya try. Ya know man the weather here has been so freakin hit and miss. I've lost a good bit of hay because of the weather. to be honest I'd love to get it all over with. About 3-4 solid weeks would get me out of the woods. this shit of cutting hay and not being able to bale it because it gets rained on sucks. Its all good though. Just gotta roll with the punches.

Glad your liking this version.
I've learned a great deal on this one like bending tubing, Mig welding, fiberglassing, etc. etc . I could go on and on. When I started a few years back I had no idea what I was actually capable of pulling off. I had to go through the other versions first as a growth process. Guess that's why I could never stop on the one same bike. Expectations of myself were always higher than what I was turning out.
The bikes were ok but I never felt good about the idea of selling one of the earlier versions or leaving them as is. This version however is one I'd be proud to sell so don't expect it to get changed... (anytime soon. hahaha just kidding).
Not sure if any of this ramble makes sense and I know its Kinda weird, but that's just me. ;D

Yep I get it. cool concept. Could load it with a progressive spring on each side so that it would move the amount your body told it to. Seat could roll on an arc so weight could be distributed lower throught the turn. One of us should patient that before we think about it too much ;D

Love to leave a man of many words with a single limited word, haha. That one word gains a whole new value! Thanks brother. Much appreciated!!
The studs are 3/8-16 I have a couple brass acorns but I kinda like the contrast of the nickle nut/brass washer. Of couse I'm always open to idears...
I am adding more brass eventually. I just ordered a set of brass brake/clutch levers so we'll see..
Hey I got your pm. I'll try to get back to ya tonight. heading out to brush hog pastures as soon as I get my fat arse off the computer.

Since I can't post without pimping a picture here yaall go. I've been prepping the headlight for paint and tossed it on for a look see.

Re: Willow..Alchemy upholstery rocks!

Dear god man... Whole other level here. I am blown away. And youre 100% right about the pipes. Ill get the others out to ya asap.

As I typed that, I wondered to myself "would it be possible to make actuall copper exhaust pipes?" I know its a real soft metal, but man, if you could find some proper tubing with a thick wall and bend them up it would be amazing. Figure out some way to use the stock flanges... Hmmmm... Time for research...

Re: Willow..Alchemy upholstery rocks!

does look trick man! very trick! :( just sad my fat ass woiuld be nervous asking to take her for a ride, hahaha 225 on that seat would prob be pushing it! hahaha
troy looks great man

Re: Willow..Alchemy upholstery rocks!

I think you could use copper for pipes but it would discolor quite a bit I bet. Maybe if you could do a copper sleeve to go over the pipes and get something to disperse the heat a bit? That just might be cool as hell. Maybe brass would take more heat? Have to look up the thermal tolerances of the metal and how hot the 360 gasses would get etc. Or maybe do copper heat shield from 2" copper pipe cut open, bent and drilled?? Oh and Joe, Troy probably weighs pretty close to 225, heck I am 205 and he is bigger than me! Lifting hay all day can bulk you up!

Re: Willow..Alchemy upholstery rocks!

so there is hope!!! hahahaha i am down 38lbs so who knows by the time i see this sucker i may be under 200!

Re: Willow..Alchemy upholstery rocks!

can't wait to see this beauty as bike of the month...cuz thats where it belongs. EPIC WORK.

Re: Willow..Alchemy upholstery rocks!

It would be best to bend with a mandrill bender.

Copper sheilds that screw on to nuts welded to the pipes is a good idea.

Re: Willow..Alchemy upholstery rocks!

hey i just scrolled thu you photo album on photo bucket and i had no idea these where the same bikes.
amazing!!!
