Good morning, So at 50 years of age with precious little mechanical ability I got the itch to do some sort of a cafe racer. Been riding my whole life and I thought this would be a good project for my aging father and I to have some fun with. This has been an incredibly satisfying journey and as summer approaches I think I'll have it "done". Huge shout out to Jake from Jadus for being an all around awesome help with absolutely everything. Thanks!

Did you paint the rims with spray cans? I've been wondering how that holds up, or if powder coat is needed for it to stick.

I've used the VHT Chassis Epoxy on wheels and Duplicolor wheel paint and both have held up very well.

Yes. I degreased and cleaned them. Then a light but thorough sanding. Then another cleaning. Then a self etching primer and finished with: https://www.amazon.com/your-orders/...pmentId=DxQrPQKrK&packageId=1&asin=B002MB8TQ2
I’m quite pleased but I can’t speak to the durability as I haven’t had her out on the road yet. If I had the money, I probably would have had them powder coated. But touch ups should be easy enough.
