There are some great videos on Youtube of guys doing knee dents. Some are certainly more helpful than others. I don't have a link to one specifically but when I did mine I just looked it up, watched 10-15 and picked the best one and went by that. Good LucK!

Can you not take the fitting out of the throttle housing and then just install the cable and use the fitting on it to screw into the housing?

That was my initial thought as well. I figured it would be rather difficult to fit the top in and get the forks to line up, etc. I didn't want to have to fight with it with all the sealant and stuff on the cases. The last thing I wanted to do was smudge some gasket maker into an oil valley, etc...
