I have some stock 77 kz400 front and rear fenders. I'm doing a cafe/scrambler build on the bike and they are going to be cut. Other parts are also coming off that are in good to excellent shape (all stock parts) I also have other parts that are in good shape that i'm removing for the build...

I was able to find some Kendas in 100/90-18 which converts to a 3.25/3.50 Not exactly my size but closer than than a true 3.5

so you're saying that i should go with the slightly narrow 3.00 tire rather than the slightly wider 3.50 and correct...i'm going for a bit of a mix of a scrambler/cafe look on this bike

i suppose that that depending on riding style a fender brace might be needed. However for a warm weather recreational bike that isn't ridden hard i highly doubt removing the fender mount will have much affect.

once i get out of my drive way and off my road it's smooth sailing...plus the scrambler look is simply amazing! i plan on moving the front fender to the rear.

I guess i'll be a guinea pig I'll throw 3.5 in the front and rear. I have the space between the forks, i don't know about the fender clearance but I'll be ditching the fender anyway so that will be of no concern.

the rear tire is not an issue, i can readily find a 3.5x18 rear tire(stock size replacement), i cannot find a 3.25 to fit the front. I was hoping someone could chime in on whether i could run the 3.5 on the front or not...or drop down to a 3.00 as those are both readily available in 18" sizes...

thanks, I'd prefer to run 3.25 up front and 3.5 in the rear however a 3.25 dual sport tire in 18 inch size seems to be a rare bird. Will running 3.5 (.25 of and inch larger) really make that much of a difference?

i really like those Shinikos. I'm running dunlop k70's on my cb but have run shinikos in the past on my multistrada and daytona 955i and really liked the price and quality. the 700 series don't seem to be anywhere near the kz sizes the 241 series while not looking a aggressive as i'd like...

found a Shiniko 244 3.00x18 that will fit in the front as the Shinikos fit front/rear Or run Shiniko 244 3.5x18 in both the front and rear.
