I want to relay some recent events regarding Matt's gauge decal designs. After viewing his posts in this forum, I contacted Matt to ask about creating some custom gauge designs. The concepts I had in mind were rather involved and frankly just a mix of thoughts. After exchanging a couple emails...

David, Thank you very much. For now I just scanned through it, I will read it in detail in the next couple of days (when I have more time) and let you know if any questions arise. But it looks like an excellent job. Thank you again for doing this. It has given me the encouragement to try it...

David, Too funny! I'm sure we could start a good thread with all of the "or the time I..." moments we've had.

Thanks HDSCARBRO. Based on your success with it, I am once again considering making one myself. Anything you can offer to help me with it will be greatly appreciated.

HDSCARBRO, Thank you for sharing this. Based on some of the information I found on forming acyclic, I had decided it was not worth trying...just sounded too complicated. But your photos make it appear to be fairly straight forward. Could you possibly do a little wright-up on it, giving the...

Roc City, Thanks. I hear what you are saying, and agree there is a cost to producing products; as the owner of a few companies myself, I am aware of the cost of doing business. In this case I was basing my impression of profitability by the fact that there are other companies that make and sell...

Von, My fairing is not un-common, especially with the vintage race crowd. It's from a Bultaco TSS (though I'm using it on another bike). I've contacted every source I could find. But to my surprise, only one place in the US makes this model screen (that I could find) and I am not particularly...

Hey Matt, I've failed to mention it in our communications about the gauge faces, but I also want some of your DTT stickers added to my order. I'll take three of them, mix and match some black and some white if you have enough. Just include these with my gauge face shipment, once we get that...

Thanks everyone for the feedback, I think you are all correct in your assessments. From what I have researched, at first it sounds like a fairly basic process to heat and form the material. But the more I read, it seems to be rather particular, as others have mentioned here. The temp needs to...

I'm wondering if anyone has made a new windscreen to fit an existing fairing? Seems like it should not be too difficult to heat up some plexy over a form, but I do not have the original screen to copy. So no idea how to get the right shaped form. Any experience making one? I'd appreciate some...

Matt, I thought I would post some information I found on line, to go along with your gauge face decals listed here. First, even though it is right there in front of my face, I did not see your other thread with many more samples of your work....excellent stuff. Everyone should look through...

Re: DTT / Cafe Racer / Vintage Moto Shop Banners Now that you have worked out the concept and received feedback on the interest level, any idea what the final price will end up being? Thanks

I am no expert on doing upholstery work, but I can relay a bit of experience. Just like you, I built a lot of cars before I started building bikes. On one of my early car projects I decided to try making my own custom covers for the seats (I also like to do as much as possible for myself)...

"Session101", thanks, that is where I bought the fairing from. They do not sell screens and the only recommendation they will offer is Gustafsson...which is who I am trying to avoid (I won't get into why). "Spotty", I will see what the shipping is, but I'm guessing it may not be worth the cost...
