triumph front drum on a CB500T?

The braking was a lot better, after getting some lube into the pivot points and new springs. There was more brake feel into the lever. The welding that had to be done was the brake stay on the back of the fork. The tab that the brake face is bolted to. There was some machining involved also. The...

100 bucks!! I think mine hit 300 Canadian though yes up I cut off all the brackets, seat hinge and some other bits that got in the way. Ran out of cutting wheels and patience so the seat lock is still on till the winter when it gets tore down to the frame. I'll get a close up shot of the seat soon

Its a flat pan with about a 20 degree bend up 3/4's of the way back you can see the pan in the picture, and it's held down by two bolts, you can see the two tabs in the picture, I threaded the seat pan. Very easy to remove and is held pretty securely

In order to solve the where to bolt the brake plate to I think I am going to get a piece welded on the fork tube to match the triangle shape where the bolt is on the brake plate. has anyone ever welded on fork tubes before? I'm gona drain the fork oil first I think then it should be safe. keep...

triumph front drum on a CB500T?

Went to the machine shop today to get a shim made to fill the gap between the triumph axle and the honda forks, and it turns out the gap is too small to machine something to fit. They have to bore the hole where the axle gets clamped into a little wider in order to machine a shim to fit.

triumph front drum on a CB500T?

Im wondering what the brake stay should look like? If I use a piece of steel straight from the bolt on the brake plate to the fork, it looks like it won't be very solid when under braking load. If I make a piece that looks for like a backwards 7 will that be stronger? angle back off the brake...

triumph front drum on a CB500T?

I picked up the drum this weekend, I see all honda drums are on the left side and all triumph drums are on the right side. Will it matter which side it goes on the honda? I would like to have it on the right side like the triumphs, but will that throw the braking balance off?

Thanks swagger! The brake lever is separate from the the throttle/switch pod. I'll head over the to motorcycle salvage and look for a cable brake lever and its stop light switch. Rocan nothings for free in this world! I'll trade you a brooklyn NY T-shirt for it, I see thats where you live from...

I am wondering if this triumph front drum would be a direct fit with my 76CB500T, if not what measurements should I take to go look at it and check?
