Glad to see this! I should be picking one up in a week or so in IA (seems like the few I've seen online are in Iowa for some reason). Mine looks to be in about the same condition... I'm hoping to build it for El Mirage...

Here are a few shots of my first attempt at working with fiberglass... and building a seat for my RD400.
There's two layers of 7.5oz cloth with a few pieces of 3mm foam stuff in between for rigidity. I'm hooked on this fiberglass work! Hopefully I can come up with a few more things to mold...
Cool deal... Yamaha switched the calipers to the backside at some point on the RDs. I'm just making sure there isn't something obvious I'm missing.

Is there any reason not to switch forks from right to left, effectively running each leg backwards from stock?
My RD400 has early RD350 disc brake forks. The caliper is mounted ahead of the fork leg on the right. I'd like to have the caliper behind the fork leg, which would put it on the left...
