The bike is a 1975 Yamaha XS500. I will likely keep the bike for a while, and want it to be built right, but will likely sell it to fund the next project. For me, building the bike is just as enjoyable as riding it.
I think I'm going to go ahead and get new spokes/nipples and have the rims...
Thanks for the help. I don't want it to look like crap, so I'm going to go ahead and disassemble them. Could the existing spokes be cleaned up and reused? or should I go ahead and get new? I'll try to post some pics soon to give you an idea of the condition of the wheels.
Is it acceptable to blast and powder coat laced wheels? Or should I go ahead and completely disassemble the wheels?
