Ok, thanks for the clarification. I had to remove the Dyna from my 550 because I was having batt charging issues (which led me to read the posts mentioned above). I was running a modern reg/rec, but no other measures to reduce stock load.

so the MANY posts over at SOHC4 discussing the increased draw of the Dyna system and the meager output of the stock 550 charging are ridiculous? The numbers i've seen put the ADDITIONAL draw of the Dyna system at 1.5 amps over points. I'm not trying to be difficult, just looking for answers.

The Dyna taxes the charging system of the 550 which can affect battery charging, and lower resistance coils make it worse. Check over at SOHC4 forum for a better explanation. As mentioned above, a decreased load via LEDs will help, but don't use the 3 ohm coils.

Either the load is not correct (wrong or missing bulbs), or the the flasher is shot.
