Qckslvr, did you ever figure out what to do with the speedo/tach? That's a GS, right? Also, what's the clearance from the tank like with those clipons?

Good looking bike - I have heard that the GS's have good engines - However, you don't see too many on this site - not too many Suzukis when compared to CBs. Is this due to Hondas being more popular in the cafe scene, or that they are well made? I have heard good things about the GS engine.

I'm in preparation of tackling a '78 GS550 E, it's down to the frame now - but I'm looking for some inspiration from other GS's out there. I'm concerned the fork set up may be positioned a bit high for Clubmans, and not sure if I want to go as low as Clipons. Also, I have the tank ready for...

I'm currently living in Hong Kong, and will be here for another few months until I will be back home and able to ride. While I'm here, does anyone know of parts shops here? Anything decent to browse around? Looking for anything to fulfill the lack of riding until the summer.

Re: ** WELCOME NEWBIES to DTT** That GS must be the L model? When stock it's more of a Jap cruiser? I have an 'E' model from the same year, the lines are different - seems like the tank is smaller on the E. Good job with the bike! It's great to see another GS here.

Thanks for all the information, I looked at that link, but there was a buyer comment saying that they didn't fit their GS well. I have seen a few pictures of bars that are shaped like Clubmans, but have very little drop, almost flat, but not quite - I just don't know where to find them.

Looking for bars to fit a '78 GS550E, but something with not too much drop. Any pictures or information would be great, Thanks, James
