Details are never really minor.

All that is needed for a test ride now is a new diaphragm for the front MC reservoir (on order). That, and good weather.

Much of the excess weight of a GL is in the engine. I've seen them mono-shocked, and wasn't impressed. Just as they come stock (with no added fairings and such), they are very capable "around town" bikes. All that I added to the '79 that I had was a luggage shelf to bungee things to. My '78 with...

STILL waing for front tire. Ordered on Amazon, rear came in but front (from a different vendor) still delayed in shipping.

Wheels are back off and waiting for tires to come in and be mounted.

It lives! Started on gas squeezed into the carb float bowls with a squirt bottle. Muffler will be mounted while the wheels are off for new tire (on order) mounting. I'll mount the tins after she gets a road test then.

Carbs mounted. Just need plugs and air cleaner installed, then I'll fill the carbs with a squeeze bottle and try firing her up.

Now on her own wheels. Still need to mount and connect the carbs and flush the storage oil from the gas tank.

At least the front wheel is under it. Agreement with the wife is that bikes have to run before ordering new tires. I guess rear wheel, cooling sysstrm, and carbs go on Friday, and start attempt Saturday (rain forecast Sunday).

Things looking better now. Wiring 95% complete and tested. Might get to attempt fire-up by next weekend if I get wheels under it.

Oh, it got better. The fan that moves cold air from the freezer up to thr frig wasn't moving any air. Coils frozen over.spent two hohrs defrosting them.

Wish I had. Instead, took the tractor out to do some mowing. Ended up running over something causing ~1" gash in the left rear 23x10.5x12 turf tire sidewall. Two plugs are holding 12 psi for now, but I doubt they will hold up to mowing.

Decided to do the brakes instead. Bad choice. snapped off the bleeder in the Right front caliper, then an EZout in that. Lurking ebay for a replacement.

Thermostat, housing, upper water tubes and upper motor mounts all on. I guess wiring harness and shelter frame come next.
