I was looking at this pair of shocks http://www.tecbikepartsusa.com/TEC_Alloy_Remote_Reservoir_Shocks_YAMAHA_XS650_TX6_p/j-sh-21-y5.htm and was wondering if they are interchangeable with my gs650. I couldn't see a length on the website.

On my 1981 gs650g the clutch will not completely disengage. If i start it in first with the clutch in it will lurch and stall. It will start in neutral but if i shift to first it stalls even with the clutch in. I noticed that after putting the rear wheel back on there was a slight gap in between...
I recently got a gs650 which i am beginning to cafe. I always see people talking about shortening cables, but i was wondering, do you have to shorten cables? It doesn't seem like there would be any mechanical downsides, it just might not look as clean.
