Master cylinders have different bore sizes and it’s important to match them to the calipers. I can’t proclaim to know how the math works but I do know MCs need to be the right “size” to operate your caliper properly.

There are aftermarket headlights like that out there - to slap on old dirtbikes. Acerbis Elba for example.

Looks like a great scoot to run around the town on. Why shorten the front suspension for dirt tho? I don't think raising the front by 1" when you fit a 19" wheel to it will be noticeable. The fork brace may be an issue - those are pretty short lowers. You might end up wanting different forks...

99.9% of people here will tell you to chop it up as much as you like. Keep it safe and function > form and you won't alienate anybody. The first bike I owned was a 1978 CB750K. I never got it on the road but passed it along to a friend who did, and then another friend took it off his hands...

Pods are notoriously inconsisent. Are they genuine K&N? I'd start by cleaning and oiling them all. You could also swap them around and see what happens. The airbox on these old (or any carb'd) inline 4 bikes is important to provide consistent equalized airflow and prevent the outer cylinders...

Picked up one of these freestanding storage racks from Princess Auto (Harbor Freight equivalent in Canada) for $65. Needed something here in the bunkie but with all the windows I didn't have anywhere good for shelving, and being able to move this around is handy.

I wouldn't go to the extreme, but 1, 1.5 inches should be fine. You don't want the forks to slam into the bottom of the triple tree.

Motivating me to get out there and work on my own XS project.
