So my '70 CL450 motor just got a nice valve job, cyls honed, started to reassemble only to find one of my followers had decided it wanted to be "one" with its mated cam lobe--and accordingly, both of them are now sacrificial pieces to the gods. Anywho, i'm now looking for either a complete 450...

Pretty sure we ran the incorrect seals on my 450, which is now again dismantled because of a damaged valve stem as a result of a small piece of somethin' that passed by the valve seal and caused a burr on the stem...which resulted in the valve having to be forcibly removed via hammer... looks...

We all gotta start somewhere... and you are right, jumping in is a good way to learn. That being said, painting your motor while it is in your bike is, lazy. Pulling a 125 motor out shouldn't be too much of an effort... You should have at the very least taped off your frame and other bits...

Picked up a marled one at the scrap yard, chopped it and sanded it smooth...then got creative with mounts. Wasn't the easiest, but with a stock fender it would be a breeze. If you want to go pro, cut in the middle and weld, so you have the nicely finished edges...unfortunately, i do not have a...
