cb450 rearsets done on the cheap!

I'm impressed! looks great. I wish I would have spent the $170 I spent on tools, and made these instead. Where were you two weeks ago?

    Fuck, Harley stole my look!

this reminds me of something my dad always told me. "if say a honda part costs $10, the same harley part will cost $100. Just add a zero." this is pretty close to true. I went into the local harley shop and looked around for some smaller parts that might work on my 350 or 550, and found some...

    Fuck, Harley stole my look!

I agree with you Loudest. I'll admit that I want to have a harley in the stable sometime in the future, but something old that I will build myself. I don't blame harley for trying. There are a lot of companies that reach out and try and grab other demographics that they are not getting. Look at...

painting carbs what paint to use?

I read that people have used high temp engine paint, brake caliper paint, POR15, and just rattle can paint to do their carbs. I want to know what you paint guys think would be the best choice? I also don't want to powder them FYI.

    So I fianlly got a bike (CB450)

it's pretty clean looking. good find! If your going to paint the tank find a cheaper spare and pound some knee dents in there, and paint that one. If that stock tank is clean inside and out I'd keep it that way. If you store it keep it full to top with gas, so it doesn't rust. Get it ready for...

    CB360T Build/Rebuild

are your grip flanges rubbing on your controls? That is why my throttle sticks some times. If it is cut the flange off or cut the other end off and slide the grip down a little bit, or but a washer that will fit over the throttle and buffer between the controls and grip flange... make sense?

new from Seattle - looking at buying a CB450

I bought my 550 for $800 and my 350 for $200. Off of portland craiglist. Just keep your eye out there are cheap bikes, mostly need some minor work... unlike my 350. Just find one you have a plan for, and keep going till your done.

Front brake locked up on '71 CB450

It should say on top of your master cylinder.

    Front tire in the rear

I would skimp somewhere else. You know like brakes...? Remember your tires are the only thing that is going to keep you up right when you go through a corner fast, hit some water, or have to hit the brakes real hard. I was riding on the old tires my 550 came with and hit the brakes for a brake...

    Front brake swicth delete.

I've talked to a few old salty motorcycle guys and they told me that they always run a rear switch. Sometimes they don't run a front, incase they have to get rid of a tail. ;D That way you can only use the front to disappear. Also the front brake does the majority of the work. I still don't...
