    GS450-rear mudguard opinions and advice

Re: GS450 "Sticky Mistress" S&M Hey Pete. About how often do you have to empty yours out? I've just gone over to Pods and have yet to get everything back together again but was wondering if a filter would suffice.

Re: GS450 "Sticky Mistress" S&M Yeah, it looks like the breather hose goes in the side and the filter sits on top. There's even a drain at the bottom, much like yours Pete. Only no sight glass on this one.

    My 81 GS450 Cafe Build

So, I took a couple quick pictures for you. So the stock coil mounts had to be removed as well as the stock front tank mounts. The coils will be attached with a bracket such as this: Clamps to the upper tube. Here's the front mount. I drilled out the hole that the cover was screwed into...

    My 81 GS450 Cafe Build

Yeah, later today I can post them for you. I still haven't made the bracket for the rear but it'll be simple. Especially when you've got access to a CNC Router. ;D

    My 81 GS450 Cafe Build

Good luck finding that tank, I was looking for one since I purchased my 450t two years ago and -just- found one locally on Craigslist out of the blue. It was in pretty rough shape but has cleaned up nicely thus far. The conversion of the mounts has also been super simple. A small bracket for...

    GS500 cams in GS450?

I feel the same way about my tank now, I've had it for nearly two years now and finally decided its time to do something about it. Got the 650 tank waiting to go, pretty excited for the larger capacity of it as well. A little more range will be nice. Also, The GSResources would be a wealth of...

    GS500 cams in GS450?

The spoked wheels look much better than the mag wheels to me, luckily mine is a 450t, it came stock with the wire wheels. From what I can see in your avatar I really like the look of the tank you've got on there. I've gotten myself a 650 tank that I'm gonna swap out for as soon as the season...

Completely unrelated to your question, what tank have you got on your 450? Any bigger pictures?

Re: gs 450 "Red Headed Step Child"-progress Thanks for the heads up, The model E tank is from the same year model as mine. The tank is boxier towards the rear but narrows nearly perfectly towards the front. I dont think it should be an issue but we'll see. I've still got plenty of work to do...

Re: gs 450 "Red Headed Step Child"-progress Perfect, sounds almost exactly like what I had planned. I just wondered if you had done it differently. Luckily for me I have access to a welder, so It should be less pain/hassle. Your bikes looking good!

Re: gs 450 "Red Headed Step Child"-progress Have you got any pictures of the front mounts for that tank? I've got a 450T and acquired a 650E tank that I plan on putting on. I'll need to replace the front mounts and just wondered how yours looks. Thanks.

To tube or not to tube + self tire installation.

I've heard that some cast wheels are porous as stated. I've also read that the lip of the rim makes a big difference too. It's somehow different on rims designed for tubeless vs tubed?

To tube or not to tube + self tire installation.

I replaced both tires on the GS450, myself, and added tubes to them. Mine has the wire wheels though rather than cast. I did a decent amount of research on the topic and from what I found the general recommendation was to use tubes. As for installing the tires yourself, its very doable...

Re: 83 GS 450 with issues... here we go! As for the O-rings, you can order them from Cycle O-rings, I'm sure the guys at GS-Resources will have told you about him. I found that he's quick and reliable, as long as he has them in stock that is. I replaced both boots on mine when I had to go...
