What I took from his post is the bearing has an ID of 17mm and the shaft is 15mm, he's looking for the inner bushing. I was mistaken on my previous post, the od of that bearing is incorrect.

That's a weird one because a 1mm wall bushing would be pretty weak... Is it possible the proper bearing is supposed to be HK1512? Check to see if the shaft is hardened, if it is, my best guess is the wrong bearing was installed by the Chinese or PO.

I be had bad coil grounds cause the bike to fizz out when it hits the pipe, the added pressure kills the spark. It usually feels or sounds like a rich condition. Is it still rpm limited at both part a full throttle?

I've built skinny pipes for a 400 triple that worked great. They only had a 63mm belly and make an excellent torque pipe. Transfer duration is 115deg and exhaust is 168 deg on a stock Kawi 100

To give you an idea of how the length effects the pipe, the first photo is a pipe made for the Kawi 100 and the peak power was about 11k, we added a 4" section to the header pipe and the peak power dropped to 9k.

I would think you would never get a tap to chase the threads properly from the top side, without ruining the remainder of the threads, that tool you posted is the way to go for sure.
