Man that would be sweet! However the part numbers don't match up sadly.
Honestly I think the starter clutch will last a while and between now and then I will figure out my next plan of attack. Maybe make a sleeve for the race and do the set up you linked....
However right not I need to figure...
IT IS ALIVE!!!!!! Well kind of...... it wont turn over just spits black smoke. However the starter clutch works!
The pics below are everything I did and will explain them now:
1. just the back side flattened (I need to grind the face of my hammer smooth its pretty pitted haha)
2. All faced hit...
Wow, that really put it into perspective. I'm going to chuck it and see what I can do while staying in the service limit.
As for the one way bearing I am for sure going over every inch of it, I will check the walls for burrs and same with the cap holes
Got it, on the last run I took it to 600 then used a Brillo pad and carbon rubber stick to polish it......maybe a bit to far. I will looks for cracks and mill it flat
So I finished the rebuild with all athena gaskets. I cant really tell if its holding or not because get this, I AM ABOUT TO REDO THE STARTER CLUTCH AGAIN!!!! hahahaha I tried firing it up after the rebuild and it was back to the horrible sound and free spins......So new game plan is, Bought all...
Found the leak..... Pretty shallow so I'll jb weld it and smooth it out with a razor. New Athena kit is on the way, kit is the same price and just buying two gaskets >:(
I mean it's .5mm gasket I looking at getting a .79mm (1/32) gasket.
Mostly because I have access to 1/32" gasket material for free...
Cylinder base, i think it would be a really bad idea to double up the header gasket.
Do I need to replace the head gasket if I separated tye mating faces?
In my defense they are brand new and came with the bike... nothing I would purchase.
Damn, I didn't think about that. I cant take the muffler off and see if it will fit till I get the top end back together later this week. Maybe the plan should be cut off and reduce the angle of the kink a...
Hard to say, the base gasket was really hard to read. it was split at the back, but I'm not 100%sure I didn't do that while removing it. With everything being torqued properly I can only assume gasket failure............that's the cheap plan, take the gasket off cut my own gasket specifically...
Really I just don't like the up and out jog in the mid pipe. So Taking into account all you guys have said, I think I will cut it just past the bend and leave around 6" of mid pipe. I'm not ditching the muffler, I'm not that guy (nothing against those guys, I just like a low growl not a loud...
Pic dump, here is what everything looks like. I assume the base casket was cracked before I pulled it off.......that's what I am sticking too. I will be buying high grade cut your own gasket material and cutting it exactly for this head With copper coat spray. Is that suffice or should I see...
