    3DogNate's 1969 Triumph Bonneville T120R Resoration

Very tidy looking mount. What did you secure the box to the plate with? Don't think you can get a cleaner or simpler mount than that.

Cheap eBay shocks.. Yay or nay

I understand the clevis mount on the RFY is wider than it needs to be so there's a chance of pinching the end when installed which leads to the clevis end breaking. Eye to eye ends are a better solution. I pity a guy who's main objective and criteria is low price when building a bike. Do you...

    Explain your dtt name

01 was my race car number and, well, the rest is self explanatory. When I got my email account AOL wouldn't let me start my name with a numeral, hence the "o".

cruz pedrigon flies the funny car

Holy Shite, he went 100' on the wheelie wheels with the other 4 off the ground. I can't believe that thing didn't flip. That'll be a good story for the grand kids.

    Doing a rain dance

Haircutttergirl where were you again, N.C.? Here in north Georgia we are just covered in smoke from the forest fires that have been raging for awhile now. We are 30 days into a 33 day record for consecutive days without rain, and no rain in sight anytime soon. We will easily break the record...

and you try to help a guy out....

None of that would work unless you have signs in the shop stating storage charge will occur after a certain time or unless there was a previous agreement. If you sent him an email stating charges would apply if they weren't picked up by such and such a date and after that they become the...

Again, if it were me I would use a piece of my scrap 1/4 polycarbonate (Lexan) and bolt it to the 2 bolt holes that have the 2 rear zip ties in your pic, and then use sticky back velcro on the box and the plate for easy removal.

I would make a plate that bolts to the 2 horn mount holes in front of the coils and delete the zip ties.

I'm not much when it comes to electrics, so it will be a slow and painstaking job to hook up everything correctly to the wiring harness. Then it's nut and bolt the whole bike, fill all the fluids and bleed the systems, time and fire it up. Piece of cake ;D

You are using the crossover pipes, may be slightly different than the non crossover pipes. I think there is a difference in mine to follow the profile of the motor that is different side to side.

I used the non balance tubed pipes from Emgo for $90, lucked out and a friend gave me a new set of the Emgo bullet mufflers. Plan on spending at least $300USD , it's a chunk of change for just the pipes and mufflers. And then another $50+ for the correct hardware.

Pipes came in and fit like a glove. Ordered the correct muffler clamps, but they sent me large coil clamps instead. They want me to return them for exchange. This is one case where I say you are responsible for return shipping as it was your mistake. If they don't correct the issue at no expense...

And it seems that every nut and bolt you have to buy are specific and can't be replaced with a UNF. I'm missing one of the nuts that hold the exhaust pipe bracket on the engine stud. I'd be willing to bet I could replace the stud, washers, and 4 nuts with a UNF stud for what it's going to cost...

Sold some parts off a CRX i'm parting out and put some more money in the Triumph kitty. Ordered the battery, exhaust pipes and clamps, brake fittings, carb spacers, clutch cable adjuster, and extended ticklers. Need a chain and the GPS speedo and should be near completion. In the process of...

"Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

Re: "Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week! I have a check book, but there's no money in the bank. The bank called to say I was overdrawn, I said how could that be, I still have checks left. ;D

If it sells to the buyer for that, then yes it is to the buyer. If it doesn't sell at all, then yes it is to the seller. If it sells for less than $12K, then no, it isn't worth $12K to the buyer or seller. We may never know.

I've used them for decades without issue. If you put them together correctly they are flawless. I've heard lots of wives tales and horror stories in all that time, but have never experienced a leak. Some people are just morons when it comes to mechanical assemblies and I think you would find the...

When it's a runner and I pull the tins for pro paint i'll pull other tidbits to powder coat at that time. Yes, the blue has to go, maybe gold like the other accents. I'll probably coat the caliper also.
