Oh no no I was referring to the two black wires coming off the handle bar switch that go into the harness. Not the black wire of the mag switch. Should have cleared that up a bit -
So do you think that I should go through the wiring coming off the condenser to the points? Seeing full power...
Definitely made sure of the kill switch being on. Thought it was a bit odd considering I just did this about an hour ago and i got a slight reading from it(power to breaker point). May just rewire it to make some more sense.
So a black wire coming off the harness, on this picture is live...
So I hit the multimeter into the connector of the two yellow wires going from the condensor to the breaker as well as the two blue wires and I didnt get any readings. ?
I also plugged it into the connector coming off the coils, the black and white striped and I got a solid reading of about 12v...
Hate to start another post but i need you guru's to help me out.
So I posted here about a month ago about not getting power to my harness, well part of my harness(coils, switches etc)
I ended up purchasing an untouched harness and now i still have some problems. With everything plugged in...
Ordered a wiring harness for a 360 - consider this post closed. I'll post again if i run into any problems but again i appreciate the help you guys. Saved me some money and a lot of time. Always in tune with this forum so i'll keep you guys posted;
Pulled apart some more of the wiring and found some good ol' handy re-wire work. So from the picture with the wires coming in from
the left (I pulled the black wire coming from the horn off)
wires from the ignition>right handlebar switch>front stop switch>>>then the wires coming in from the...
Of course I have a test light! So I just checked to see if i get power running to the 'black' wire coming off the switch when everything is put to the 'on' position and it lights up exactly how it should.
But even when I put everything to 'Off' position it still lights up. No break in...
I've checked all my grounds and i'm still stuck with the same problem. I pulled the bar switches off to see if any wires were ruined or stressed and everything looks fine.
I'm only running the speedo so I have all the indicator wires wrapped up -
I'm not getting power to my 'Tail' fuse...
I drilled the housings out just enough for the wires to fit. Made sure it didnt slice anything and i smoothed down the housing so it wouldnt cut the wires when i clamped the switches. I'm out of ideas - when the rain stops ill try again
Any ideas why I get power to my ignition but nothing from my switches? I have power to my fuses when i hit them with a test light but im still not getting any reaction with points/headlight/starter/horn. Im getting power everywhere but my switches it seems like. Lose grounds or faulty grounds...
Clip ons and a new set of points/condenser. Im going to pull the switches off tonight to see if something is wrong. Still a little lost as of why im not getting power to the points either. Shitty!
Ah yes you wise men I appreciate the help. So I hooked up the battery and shoved a little test light right off the red wire coming off the ignition and it lit up. I also touched the test light to the fuses and it lit up as well. Live yes indeed but still nothing is working off my switches. ...
Working on getting an old 360 back on the road and im having some issues. Im not getting any power from the battery at all. It's a new battery that reads 12.9 on the multimeter so i know thats not the problem.
I've opened up the entire wiring harness to find the issue and im so lost:(...
Ah, I see! Well I appreciate the response. I realized that the answer was somewhat on the wiring diagram but i just wanted to make sure.
Still not receiving any power once I hook the battery up I'm starting to get lost with these electrical bugs. Does the stock rectifier and regulator have...
