1974 Honda CB550. Monoshock. Engine Build. "BLAC"

Re: 1974 Honda CB550. Monoshock. Engine Build. "BLAC" If I want some OEM parts, I order from www.cmsnl.com. Although it is a site from the netherlands, they ship to the USA too I think. (I am located in Belgium) They have the parts lists shown for every bike, en you can just order by...

    Custom GPZ550 (ZX550A and KZ550H)

Thanks :) We'll see what they say about the 15cc extra :p No chance of winning in the +600 cc. This green bike (kawasaki Z1000 got to 170 km/h in only 200 meters). But it's for fun anyway, I don't do it for the medal. Although I admit it was a nice surprise :P

    Custom GPZ550 (ZX550A and KZ550H)

Alright, it's been a while. (again) I had a lot on my plate past months, but in the mean time I've been gathering parts for the engine rebuild. My cylinders are bored out to fit the Wiseco 615cc kit. Bought all new gaskets, o-rings, oil seals, new primary chain, distribution chain, clutch...

    First Bike build!

Is it the belt drive or chain drive? I think it's a nice bike that you don't see too often :) Anyway, I used to hesitate to buy the GPZ305 of my friend a few years back, seemed to be a cool base for a cafe racer. Decided to go with the 550 cc version afterwards. I'll be following this build ;)

There goes the money :p It always hurts me when you have to pay a lot of money for seals. But hey, at least you are sure your bike won't be dripping for the coming years.

    72 CB350 For the Daughter

I would go with the 5th. I think if you use the 3rd the end points of the wings will come too close together on top of the tank. But if you would use the 5th. I would still them a bit closer to the bottom of the tank.

    Custom GPZ550 (ZX550A and KZ550H)

Been a while since I posted something. But I've been riding the hell out of it, and even won a drag race event in the sub 600 cc class. You can say she has been behaving very well 8) But the oil consumption is getting out of hand because of the scratched cylinders. I mounted them with the...

    Custom GPZ550 (ZX550A and KZ550H)

Bought a new second hand fuel tank (Only 38 euros postal service included). I gotta redo the tank, because of some small leaks. I screwed up the tank by trying to MIG/MAG weld it two times, each time to grind it open again and cleaning the metal. This made the metal so thin it was barely...

Been riding around a bit and discovered that gas vapour leaks from the tank, causing a bubble beneath the paint on the tank. Does anyone know a way to fix this?

Things escalated quickly today. Picture of the finished fuel tank and mud guard. Than BOOM! Riding around 8) Still gotta do my seat cover, but I'll be covering it temporary with some simple black cloth. I'll be on vacation soon, than I'll park my bike at my sister's place, she'll be...

Just Another CB750F Cafe Racer 1979 DOHC - Seattle Area

Re: Just Another CB750F Cafe Racer 1979 DOHC second that, very clean bike. The thing mounted on your lower triple between your brake lines is a splitter. The master cylinder is in the same part of the brake fluid reservoir.

    GS650E First build

I encoutered slightly corroded jets in my bike. (green like corrosion on brass parts). I used jet reamers to clean out those holes. Do that by reaming the holes till you stop finding green residue on your reamers, than you've hit the stock size. Make sure your carb cleaner squirts out of all...

    Custom GPZ550 (ZX550A and KZ550H)

I've put the tank, and fender in their 2K clear coat today. And started assembling the engine back together, after lapping the valves. Gotta do valve timing tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be finished tomorrow 8) (minus some minor detail)

Started grinding the fins. Indeed, very sensible to chipping. Got a few small chips. Not too worried about it, they started chipping very soon anyway when you ride it a lot I guess. Anyway. I promised pics of my progress, here they are: Painted some parts in gold, to get some nice accents...

    Custom GPZ550 (ZX550A and KZ550H)

Painted some engine parts today (cilinder, cilinder head, valve cover, oil lines) Gotta let it dry for 7 days, than bake them in a few steps. I'll be grinding off the paint on the side of the cooling fins of the head, as it was originally. Had some assembling done the last few days, I'll be...

Well, if you start getting misfires you can't read shit from your spark plugs :) If you're able to post a video with good audio whilest riding, I'm sure some of those dark magic carb tuners will quickly help you out. Best way to learn, from those wizards :) Couldn't have gotten my bike...

1980 CB750F for $180, modern suspension and upgrades for a cafe racer build

But why? :P Nothing goes more hand in hand with the cafe racer spirit as swearing on your goddamn bike while getting the carbs just right. And than screaming of joy when riding the bitch with those sexy ass air pods 8)

    JPMs 1977 Suzuki GS550 REDUX

Is the engine stuttering when trying to climb in revs while riding, or is the engine drowning (more of a bwroap sound). Stuttering would indicate lean most of the times. Drowning would indicate too rich. First quick try should be getting the carb leaner when you started with a stock bike. Those...
