    Relocating fuses

I came up with a solution! Acquired some fuse terminals from te "spare" wiring harness in our Parts Dept. I even managed to get close matches to the original wiring so I could splice them into the factory harness connector! Now my tiny new fuse "box" is no longer glass, and it's nestled all cozy...

    Spark Plug Wire Gauge

In terms of moving electrons, bigger is always better. I'd wager using a high-grade silicone wire would be better (esp. in wet weather) than cloth wrapped. You can always invest in some cloth tape if it's a look you're after. YT

Tires for a '72 Honda: Firestone? Battlax? Avons?

Another one for the list is Kenda Retroactive. Sweet looking, decent reviews and cheap to boot, so if you don't like them, you're not too put out

    1981 cb750c seats?

If you'd like to occasionally carry passengers, you can't go wrong with a stepped, brat-style seat. Check out Mork's "the Platypis" build as only one fine example. It's also a cb750c. Also, welcome to DTT! That's a mighty nice CB you have to start with.

    Relocating fuses

What I wouldn't give to have that kind of spare capital! As it stands, I have to make due with what I can scrounge/fab/beg/raid from junk piles. For the time being, I think I've managed to come up with a workable solution: I've filled the bottom of the fuse box with epoxy to keep it waterproof...

Man, I hate when that happens! Nothing worse than running out of wire mid-job. Looking good so far though Ike; keep it up!

Montreal Manchild with an '81 Honda CB750K

Carb cleaner is a tricky subject. Some will eat paint and coatings, some won't even effectively chew up old grease. If the paint on your cases is shot anyway, I'd say give it a go. You can always repaint at a later time after its all clean. Also, here's a link to an eBay listing showing what...

Montreal Manchild with an '81 Honda CB750K

As promised, Here's the pic of the tensioner bolt with its lock nut. Don't judge me on the filthy enhine; I haven't started cleaning off the grime yet...I'm still not sure if this is going to be my rider or if I'm going to swap the engine into my father-in-law's F as was the original plan.

    Taking an engine out

Regardless of your method, do it carefully. I was able to slip the engine out of my GR650 by myself without laying the bike down, but i payed for it for the rest of the weekend and I've been called a "monster" by people I work with because i swap transmissions without a jack (but they're only...

Montreal Manchild with an '81 Honda CB750K

... I think that's for another thread, Jimbo lol. And Mike is right: those bolts get stripped because people tighten them (note that I didn't say "over tighten"). The Honda manual, Clymer manual, YouTube etc. All say the same thing: loosen the bolt, when it stops being noisy then snug it up. It...

Loctite will be a band-aid fix. If those threads are really gone (like they were in my F) then a heli-coil is your best bet. 140, compared to 160 isn't that bad on a stone cold, dry engine. Put a half cupful of ATF in the cylinder; it should come up the rest of the way. Then do it to the...

That is one shiny tank man, we'll done! And WD40 will work fine. It's original purpose was to protect missiles from corrosion at sea during the cold war. Busting loose rusty nuts was anot accidental bonus.

Well, happy anniversary Tim, and happy birthday, DTT! Thanks for hosting such a fantastic place for people to come and shoot the shit! Do the Ton is a veritable cornucopia of information and the members are all first rate people! So, does this mean there will be a DTT Bike of the Decade? ;D

I'd totally rock a Chapter patch like that. I'm neither a programmer nor an accountant, but it's funny as hell!
