    my project

Has the ride height or frame been altered since the first photo, it looks like there's plenty of clearance there?

What ever you do DON"T TRY WELDING IT!!!, one of my racing colleagues decided to weld up his triple, we buried him later the same week - and no I'm not making this up. Your triples are subject to large stress loadings; so $130 is a good price to guarantee the performance of a vital part of the...

    FZR750 Cafe Racer

Most of the after market tail tidies seem to be a lighter gauge than this, plus the fact that S/S has a higher tensile strength than mild steel would mean that it's about equal to 2mm mild steel, so I don't think that'll be a problem, and if it ever does fracture, then I'll just have to fire up...

I decided to get the number plate mounting sorted today so I grabbed a piece of 1.6mm 304 Stainless and got to work First, a few measurements and some marking out The onto the bandsaw to rough it out After 30 minutes smoothing and blending of the edges I got stuck in with my little...

    Easy low cost brake bleeding

Like Maritime said, if your changing the old fluid for new just put the hose into an old container to get rid of the old fluid, then pump out the bubbles fast and easy. I've thought about using speed bleeders, but the Scotsman in me like the low dollar approach :)

    Easy low cost brake bleeding

I've just finished a total rebuild of the rear brake caliper following a clean, paint and rebuild. Now, brake bleeding is not one of my favourite jobs, but I figured out a low cost way to take the pain out of it. Over the years I've invested in a Sykes Pickavant brake bleeder, which has never...

Re: '76 RD400c -- 2smoker "Ginger" Those videos bring back memories of my RD400G, bought new in 1980, just another of those 'I wish I'd never sold it' bikes :)

    1st Build - CB650 Cafe

That's turning into a nice bike, glad to see you ditched the yellow wheels. Shame about the piston rings, but these things can happen every once in a while. What's the tank off, it almost has a Ducati Darmah look about it?

Also fitted the speedo sensor to the rear brake caliper and made up a holder for the magnet to mount on the rear disc I decided to cut the heel plates of the foot pegs and give them a polish, and as the brake light switch is mounted to the heel plate, I now have a hydraulic pressure...

There's been more progress in the shed this month, first I finished rough grinding the welds and gave the frame, sub-frame and tank a coat of etch primer Than shot it with 2 pack black under coat Next the swing arm got polished and I fitted some phosphor bronze bushes After some...

    XZ in NZ

I'm watching this with interest as I had one of the first XZ550's in the country, and loved it once Tommy's Yamaha sorted the carbs out. This looks like it's going to be one nice café when it's done :)

From the look of it, it's about a 1967 B120 http://www.suzukicycles.org/1960-1969/1967b.shtml I had a later version that I used for commuting for a while. :)

    cb900f my first bike

It's worth completely stripping the carbs and giving them a good going over, plus it'll give you a chance to see if they've been jetted correctly for the exhaust, and remember to balance them when you put them back on the bike. While your at it check it air cleaner - is it nice and clean? If...
