You are over thinking the problem... the chances that it really was "bent" where You describe are few and far between.... stick another arm in there and be done.. no sense in over engineering something that doesn't need it.... with a swing arm in there it will be strong enough.
Re: Soon to be a kat 600 fighter (F*CK!!!)
Yup... sort a swinger and be on Yer way... try a bandit 12... should slide in and allow the use of a wider rear rim/tire combo
You can adjust the amount of oil that the pump injects... just have to adjust the cable... should be in the manual... I've done it in the past, but it's better to try the jetting 1st... make sure to have plenty of spare plugs on hand as You will foul a few.
I think I was the 1st Guy to use one of those light on a fighter back in 01-02.... they are ok if Yer in the city where there are street lights but get anywhere dark and forget it..... And yup anything brighter than the bulbs that come in them will melt them (ask Me how I know).....
Awesome as is, wouldn't change a thing, except maybe a seat pad ;) .... I would recommend You keep the airbox... helps loads with keeping it running well.
I would hang on to the stock parts... Esp the pipes, They are HUGE $$$ to find in even decent shape... I sold a set of mint GT750 pipes for $900....
If Yer selling all the parts anyways.... Why not do a little welding and convert the rear to a single shock.... The lower linkage is already...
Why not buy a new set of up-side downers off e bay.. For the cost of having the "rechroming" done You could get a few pairs off e bay... If it's for a Suzuki the you usually just need to swap the stem between the triples to "bolt" em in
